You may be eligible for the Reserves, but I think that active duty is out of the question due to potential (wide) fluctuations in blood glucose due to irregular routines (food, activity, monitoring blood glucose and injections).

Well...i know of a relative who is in the Army and has diabetes. Exactly what kind im not certain. But the catch is he has been in for probably over 10 years and only found out he had diabetes probably around a year or two ago. As far as a new recruit, im really not certain.
Just try, if you can prove you have it in control they might allow it. Diabetes isnt the end of the world these days.

NO because your health would be interfering with your duties. The Military requires a lot of physical commitment (not that you can't do that) but given the fact that you have Diabetes & on medication, your health is considered "limited" when it comes to work or whatever type of duty they will assign you, that's the thing, you don't know what or where they will assign you. All military branches want individuals who are 100% healthy, no restrictions. The ones that develop diabetes or any other type of Medical problems after enlisting get a "Medical Discharge".

Current or history of diabetes mellitus is disqualifying for enlistment or appointment.

They are relaxing the rules to get people in the Army, maybe that one will slide if your in good condition otherwise.
