Speaking of "now language", I've noticed that in the past ten years people have been trying to use other words other than Cool, which is something I've used since 3rd grade when I was about 9, around 1992-1993. I didn't want to use "that's hot" because it just sounds like I'm copying Paris, lol. I mean I have used the term hot before to describe a guy or something but I still use cool, is that passe?

When I was younger I would say some trendy words like "Whatever" "as if" (when I was spoiled bratty preteen), "duh" around the same time I first started using cool (people around me used that a lot) but out of all the slang I've tried, "cool", "that's cool", or "this is cool", or "he's hot" "hot" persist. I've been tempted to use "that's hot" or "that's sexy" but I didn't want it to look like I was being Paris Hilton, lol.

I would only use hot to mean trendy, like
Those shoes are really hot now.

I use cool to mean:
interesting, unique, fascinating, easy-going, relaxed, fun, funny, stylish, calm.
It was funny a couple of years ago in London, they were saying everything was "wicked" to mean cool.
