I am a Christian so naturally we a Crucifix on our altar as a reminder that Jesus suffered for our sins and that God loves us.

But I read that Mormons think that they can be gods (I guess that Mormons think that they created the Earth). I also read that they have people on bleachers on their altar. Does the congregation worship the people on the altar?

In the Christian churches people sit to the side of the altar because it would be blasphemous to sit in front of a picture depicting God. Also, I never see Mormons wearing Crucifixes. Even though they don't believe that Jesus is God do they believe that He suffered for our sins? It's funny that they hijacked Jesus' name for their church and they don't believe as Christians believe (that Jesus is God, the ONLY God).

The alter in the chapels contains the emblems of the sacrament. When blessing the sacrament, to remember Christ's death and atonement, a priest kneels behind it. The interior of the chapels are basically free of any pictures or images. The lobby and halls will have pictures of Christ and scenes from scripture.

We believe that our father in heaven wishes us to develop to our full potential, just as any parent does. Christ said to be perfect even as the Father is perfect. Jesus told us that in Revelations that we will sit on His throne, even as he sits on the Fathers.

Finally Jesus cited Psalms about our potential to be gods

John 10:32 Jesus answered them, Many good works have I shewed you from my Father; for which of those works do ye stone me?
33 The Jews answered him, saying, For a good work we stone thee not; but for blasphemy; and because that thou, being a man, makest thyself God.
34 Jesus answered them, Is it not written in your law, I said, Ye are gods?
35 If he called them gods, unto whom the word of God came, and the scripture cannot be broken;

So just as they wanted to stone Jesus for saying these things, I see the rock in your hand.

Another person that doesn't understand Latter-day Saints. I'm pretty sure that I didn't make this earth and if I become a god I will make a different one. We don't wear crucifixes because we like to think of the living Christ. He isn't dead anymore. Besides one of the ten commandments is not to worship graven images. I do believe that Jesus is God, as is his father, and the Holy Ghost. Where does it say that it is blasphemous to sit in front of a picture depicting God? The people that sit behind the pulpit are leaders of the church and we don't worship them, only God. As for hijacking His name I do believe that He said that those who were his true disciples would take upon them His name.

They don't have any crucifixes displayed, nor do they wear any...as they feel that focuses on the death, rather than Jesus' teachings and his resurrection. At the front of LDS churches, you will notice three poles...these represent God, Christ, and the Holy Ghost.

The church has leaders (unpaid, people in the congregation take turns.) The leaders do sit at the front, and for the most part just conduct the sacrament. The people of the congregation take turns studying a topic, and then they present a "sermon" on it.

Although, something tells me you are less interested in the information I provided, and more interested in mocking others' beliefs...

I am a Christian.
I would not go to a church with a crucifix on the altar, nor would I go to a church where people had to sit to the side because they're afraid it would be blasphemy to sit in front of an inanimate object.
I'm sorry, but that does smack of idolatry.

EDIT:
I'm not a Mormon, either. As someone said "when I become God, I will build a better world"...

Come to one of our services. You will see that we don't have altars.

Jesus did more than just suffer for our sins. I can appreciate why you put a cross on your altar, or wear one around your neck. Can you, in turn, appreciate why we don't even have altars?

We don't believe we ARE God. We don't believe that we can ever be equal to or better than, God, our Heavenly Father.

We believe that Jesus is the SON of God. Jesus is our Lord and Saviour. He suffered and died for our sins, AND He rose again so that we can have eternal life.

Just because we don't believe as most other Christians believe does not mean we don't believe in Christ.

This always confuses me. Why do christians require little talismans or fetishes (look up the word if it bothers you) to remind them of their mythological characters? You you forget about Jesus that quickly? I suppose the concept that 'God is Jesus is God' doctrine is kind of self mutilating.

As for 'people on the bleachers', I first thought you meant "faces on the bleachers", which may be the origin of the word "Pew". You are very observant.

However, I believe you are referring to the previous practice of virgin sacrifices. This was abandoned long ago when it became apparent virgins were becoming in short supply, and are currently on the endangered species list.

I know people diss others who wear crosses, but let me say that I was not happy being and mormon and knowing that I had no freedom to choose whether I could or could not wear a cross. In the mormons sanctuary their is nothing where the bishopbrick and his (liek a priest and his helpers) counselors sit, except the numbers of the hymns on a sign that will be sung for that days service. Their temples, however have the Angel moroni, this is angel worship:
colossians 2:18 KJV
Let no man beguile you of your reward in a voluntary humility and worshipping of ANGELS, intruding into those things which he hath not seen, vainly puffed up by his fleshly mind,2 Cornithians 11:14 KJV
And no marvel; for Satan himself is transformed into an angel of light.

I am not a Mormon. Having said that, I do know something about the Mormon church and it is obvious that you are completely misinformed. If you really want to know what a Mormon church looks like I would suggest that you go and have a look on any Sunday, you can attend any of the services and you will be welcome. I am not suggesting that you become a Mormon, just that you learn the facts about the religion.

Naaaaaaaah. We don't have images of Christ's crucifixion in church, in fact, sometimes in one of the classes you could see a picture (poster of two pages size) of him, just to make the class more creative, etc.. We don't think that we are Gods, what we believe is that after we die, if we were good and were worthy to be in the Celestial Kingdom we could be LIKE God, not A GOD.. get it? I mean, we will live in a good place, we will all be good to each other, great wellness, etc...

We don't wear the cross because we worship Christ's life, not his death because he is alive, he resurrected and we are waiting for his second coming. It is like for example, God forbid it happens, someone you love is killed by being stabbed with a knife.. you will not keep that knife and worship it. We remember in our hearts Christ's sacrifice for us, of course we always do.

Yes, we believe that Jesus suffered and died for our sins and that he is our savior.

This is Jesus' restored church that is why it has his name on it. If it is Christ's church... why wouldn't it have his name on it? Like, for example, the Marriots and the Hiltons, these Hotels has their owners last names, why? because it belongs to them (the Hilton and Marriot families).
