I've received many positive AND a few negative emails, but it is mostly positive.
Yes some have led to long lasting relationships. Some because we think alike; some because they liked my answer. I am a Christian but have made friends with people of a range of faiths, there is a Muslim that I ended up going back and forth emailing thru yahoo answers and then we exchanged messenger IDs.
I have also gained connections that I could email them if I am having trouble finding a certain verse and all I have is a skeleton of the verse to go on.
All those that I have been in a email situation with I hold dear and they are on my prayer list.
There have been questions that touch me,and I pray for them too. Yahoo answers is like a second home to me and alot of the people that ask questions I care about as if they were my brother or sister.

I have received many e-mails and have responded to each one. None have been mean or hateful,,I don't think I appear hateful in my answers so I would feel no need to send a hateful e-mail, even if I were to receive one. It takes a lot to cause me to part with my self control and dignity.
While I do engage with on going correspondance with some folks, they remain a 'virtual" person, not someone that it is likely that I sit down and have coffee with, so I don't think I would refer to it as long lasting friendships. But I could be pleasantly surprised.

Yes I have received very encouraging e-mails from my brothers and sisters in Christ, supporting my ministry. They have all connected with me thru my Yahoo Answers network, one with my Yahoo 360 page, and one with my on-line Message Board. It has been wonderful.
I think I have received about 2 e-mails from Atheists trying to pick a fight, but that's their business if that's what they choose to do. lol It really doesn't affect me one way or the other. Maybe I won't affect a change in their belief system, but they won't in mine either. So, live and let live.

I get a little of everything. I have many wonderful friends here that have come to be through emails. I have also been attacked by those who are anti-Muslim and hate that I have converted to Islam, and I have gotten many asking me about my experiences as an American-Muslim woman. Most recently, my modesty has been under questioned by a fellow Muslim woman. There are all kinds in this world and I think they've all emailed me at some time.

I get about half and half. Some emails I get are from people who are hostile, angry and stuck in a pit of self loathing. They lash out at me because I don't approve of what they believe. I may not agree with it, but I don't stop them from believing it.
Many of the more hostile rants are those calling me uneducated and stupid - and then calling me a Christian. Which sadly enough I find humorous because my profile states that I am not. Many are from cowards that chose not to recieve emails and write hate namelessly.
I have recieved others that are friendly and even supportive from Christians, Muslims, Jews, Pagans and Atheists alike. Which are always nice to get.

I get some rude e-mail from people who hate my religion
And I get many wonderful e-mails that offer friendship, and some of them are from different belief. It's very nice.

I get both. I get a lot of great messages and encouragement from some. The Muslims send me hundreds of spam email ever since they discovered I am against Islam. Every day I have to delete all kinds of spam messages from them before I read my other email. This is a daily thing and has been going on for over a year now.

I very, very rarely receive positive emails from people on this forum. More often, they are nasty or demeaning and generally center around the theme of how I'm going to burn in hell because I'm Catholic, or how I'm a brainless idiot because I'm Catholic. So no, those don't tend to lead to any kind of friendship, lasting or otherwise. You're lucky they have been kind to you.

I get a mixed bag. I think I have gotten a tad more angry Christians, but I do get some very nice e-mails from all sides too.

Yes, I have only 3 of them were negative (one trying to "teach" me his belief) and the rest have all been positive and have resulted in some very good friends and 2 twins....one who looks like me but lives in Australia and one who is so much like me that we joke about being twins from another mother.
