You know the cheap paper ones from the factory. So im thinking i dont have to buy new ones, i can just put in some 10" subwoofers. My friend at work tells me that even if I put in subs, I still need to buy a new set of rear decklid speakers (6x9's) in there because I would lose "imaging" as he calls it. Is this true? What should I do? Because I have also heard that speakers in the rear (and I mean 6x9 speakers, not subs) are a waste of money. Any help? Thanks

Rear speakers don't help with "imaging" unless you want the image to be behind you. On the other hand, installing 10" subs into that spot might not work out as well as you hope; unless you specifically purchase "free air" subs, most subwoofers are made to be used in some kind of enclosure.

good 6x9's will sound good in your deck lid , if you run some power through them , good ones will even "boom" a lil
