The law applies to firearms prohibition for felons , not bows.

A bow, of any kind, can be considered a weapon, and as felons are not allowed to purchase, use, or even be in the presence of a weapon, it is against the law.

by the way, most states will not issue a hunting license or permit if the candidate is a convicted felon.

Yes., I believe you can..I think you may be able to have a shot gun depending on the type of felony....To be sure ask a lawyer...
