Well obviously if you can't tell anyone (like the police) you are talking about things you shouldn't be, but I guess just talk to your mom about it, i'm sure she'd have a problem with the neighbor not only listeningto you guys, but her convos as well...or if you want to trick her, next time you call your girlfriend, say something like "i'm glad we got our phone tapped so if the neighbor is spying the police will be notified" or.." i'm glad my mom filed that report on the neighbor, maybe she won't listen to our conversations anymore"

Well, he's obviously using a scanner. I have one -- they work very well! :D I also have a cordless fone, and I don't want everybody hearin what I have to say sometimes. The only way to defeat it is to get a DSS fone for 900mhz or 46mhz, or a FHSS fone transmitting in the 5.8 ghz zone. Let's see him get up there! :D

DSS means Digital Spread Spectrum. It means the conversation is digital, and spread out over a whole buncha channels, so no scanner can pick it up.

FHSS means Frequency Hopping Spread Spectrum.

5.8 Ghz is WAYabout what any scanner can reach, to begin with! :D

~Cindy! Who is a big scanner enthusiast!!! :D (I usually use mine to listen to short wave amateur radio, or general communications radio.)
Oh, yeah - a filter for your fone lines will not work.

he can NOT hear your cell phone... it is not possible with the technology used right now.. perhaps in the future the encryption will be broken, etc.. but it is currently not possible to listen to cell calls... (unless you have an analogue cell phone... but they took down almost all of the analogue cell towers, so even if you had one, you would have no service)

if he can hear your conversation on a cordless then one of you are using a 1st generation cordless phone from like 20 years ago... (well not that long ago, but still way old) or a 900 mhz phone with out DSS...

you should use any of the following...

900mhz phone with DSS
2.4ghz phone (all digital all DSS) unless you have wifi
5.8ghz phone LESS RANGE THEN 2.4ghz, but no wifi interference
a DECT phone, operates on 1.9ghz with DSS

DSS- digital spread spectrum.. the phone changes frequencies constantly, to prevent being heard by a radio scanner...

a corded phone is always best for privacy...

perhaps there is a baby monitor or other transmitting device near by, that he may be overhearing at least one side of the conversation... any wireless mic, or transmitter can be picked up by many radio scanners..

Punch him out, make sure he's out cold, then take his scanner.
