I have an in focus projector. during the start up screen, which typically has shades of blue, the correct color is displayed. But when I connect my laptop and display the screen through the projector, all the colors have a green tint to them. I've tried adjusting the color settings, but nothing helps. Is this a cable issue? or a bulb issue?

Your bulb is fine, so put your wallet away what happened is the same thing that happens with all VGA cords eventually (monitor cords) they bend and get tossed around, especially the ones for portable projectors, and the connections loosen at the plug. You can probably plug it in and turn it on, and play with the cord near one of the plugs, jiggle twist pinch, and get it to either go back to a normal display, or it will turn other blue or red or back to green, as long as everything is the correct color when it boots up its not the bulb. first thing to do is to replace the cord from your laptop to the projector. if that still doesnt work (i doubt but incase) try running a different signal to the projector if it has any other inputs such as an RCA in or an s-video in.
Good Luck

My InFocus is and X1 and is a DLP so there is only one bulb. A broken wire in the cable would give more than a "tint" to the pic but I guess it depends on what u are looking at.

try wiggling the cable at the connector end (most likely point of a break.)
connect the laptop to a CRT or just try another cable.

Hi. You say you have adjusted the color settings, does that include the TINT control if you have one.Increasing the tint makes skin tones a greenish colour, but if you have done this it might have something to do with the laptop connections.Have you checked to see whether your computer is compatible with the Projector.Does your laptop support DVI digital output or RGB ? Not all projectors are able to display images from a notebook computer.

This is a really old thread but our projector did this last week. It turned greenish yellow when hooked up to the laptop. I jiggled the cord and it went back to normal. THANK YOU! You know its usually something ridiculously simple
