If you are about to going to undergo a polygraph test, it all depends on how the question is asked and how you answer it.
The polygraph is measured by way of your physical response,
not, by the answer you give but, the question that is asked.
The type of drug activity that would disqualify you would be possession of drugs or something on your record or, if you told
them that you used.

Perhaps all, depending on the circumstance, don't try to lie, they will catch you and you will then be disqualified, if a police enrollee cannot tell the truth from the get go..what happens when he gets really tempted.
If you have any records on it all, better come clean, they will know. If you are a drug user, I am not sure I want you to become a police officer.
Honesty is the best policy, if you cannot tell the truth, are you going to protect and serve.
Hope it works out.

you probably went through a "pre-screen" related to your back ground.... I just went through this...;. I told the truth...and I have used drugs...but it was a LONG LONG time ago... more than 10 years... DUDE you really will not be able to pass a voice stress analysis test or a polygraph test if you lie on it...unless you are a psychopath....:+) so i hope to for your sake you told the truth on the forms that you filled out.....cause those are probably the same questions that they are going to ask you..... good luck.... tell the truth...and you will be better off if you really want the job...

Typically it's for felony use of drugs for both Police and Corrections. It all depends on the police department how far they go back and to what extent you used drugs and the time lapsed between then and now. Also, they look at your life now as opposed to then and the decisions you've made, currently.

The only type of drug activity that will keep you out will be "known" drug activity.

If you did ANY drugs within the last two years, I'd DQ you. Five years for marijuana and if you did ANY "hard" drugs like coke, crack, E, meth, heroin.....forget it, your done.
