my wife is Italian, and like the rest of her family and every other italian i know, she thinks she is always right, and even when i prove to her that she is wrong, she never admits is, nor does she accept it, she just makes up an excuse. like tonight, she shoved all the bed sheets into the dryer and they didn't dry completely because there wasn't enough room for the sheets to tumble, and when i called her about it, she didn't say sorry, she just says "i've done that before and they dried ok!" i am so sick of it, i just want to know if this is some sort of inbred italian characteristic that they can never be wrong in their mind or what !!!

please don't give me advice on how to deal with my wife. i'm only asking if other people find that Italians think they are always right? or if it is only some people of italian descent. not only my wifes family, but many other italians i know act this same way. plus it is portrayed that way in the movies alot too. so i'm wondering if others sense it too. i'm so sorry i spelled why incorrectly. i can't edit it now

I have an Italian relative and I don't believe she is the head-strong type. I've never seen her or heard of her being very head-strong. Don't stereotype other cultures. It all depends on the person, not the heritage.

OK, it's cultural.
But honestly, everone thinks they're always right to and hates to be corrected some degree.
The Italians just say so openly.

Just talk to her about it, and if things don't go well, go to a group counselor or a therapist. And I don't think all Italian people are like that.

If you ever want to get anywhere you have to just shut up and let her believe she's right. Call it "wife away". Let her win the argument in your mind you'll be saying "shut up" and she will, all you have to say is "you're right dear". Works everytime.
