Perhaps by asking that only those of a high consciousness level be attracted to your question. I'm not sure why those who are ego based feel such a need to respond. I do believe there are different levels of enlightenment or awareness - this doesn't make anyone better or less than - just more "awake" and there are infinite levels and with those levels infinite questions, hence the need for one with a higher perception to still ask questions.

Impossible. Jesus only spoke truth yet he provoked the egos and he was put on the Cross. We are supposed to be provoking and poking and prodding the souls to move forward. Some will take and some will inflate their big egos. So we don't care what they do we just drop the seeds. But if they blaspheme our dear Lord we will not tolerate. Though I don't consider myself enlightened, just following the path of the enlightened.

Had they been more enlightened perhaps their egos wouldn't be provoked. It does sound as if your ego has been provoked, Orion. Who are we to judge the levels and realms of enlightenment? Were we to be truly enlightened we wouldn't get angry or judge others. I have found my Jonathan Livingston Seagull in my partner and I hope to forever be her Fletcher but we are still very human. I think your question may come off a bit supercilious. I don't believe in judging the enlightenment of others any more than I believe in God. That judgment would be one from my ego and surely drop me down a notch on the ladder.

Why would an enlightened person need to ask a question here in R&S unless it were to supposedly teach the less enlightened?

Good question, but it is a two-edged sword. It cuts both ways. However enlightened you may think you are and however honest your question may be, there will ALWAYS be someone out there who THINKS he is more enlightened but whom you think is less enlightened.

You do realize that there is a paradox in this question: If you are so enlightened, why do you need to ask ANY question?

Why would an enlightened person want the advice from the unenlightened person? You ask the enlightened question and if an enlightened person answers it you should be able to tell by the answer.

Well, if the person is really enlightened then he or she wouldn't mind the occasional offense or thumb down. I wouldn't really know, i don't feel enlightened here on R&S, i just get by, trying to teach, trying to learn...

It's all in how you phrase it. And remember, you have a scroll button, and there is no need to respond to anyone. Also, by making it crystal-clear that you look at yourself as "enlightened" and others as 'less-enlightened" you are bound to attract hostility!

To be honest, I think that some people hang around here specifically so that they can have their egos provoked.

If we could figure that out, we would all be a lot happier. But, with religion, there is never going to be a peaceful discussion. People will always be provoked.
