Whatever man. What positive aspects did he have towards us Mormons? Yes he had positive aspects, but not to us. He issued an extermination order for crying out loud!

I actually don't think any mormons are bitter about it or even think much about it, but what Governor Boggs did was obviously wrong, just from an objective non-religious standpoint. This is why Missouri a few years back issued a public apology and letter to the Mormon church for his acts.

I'm not bitter about Gov. Boggs, I actually feel sorry for him because of the bitterness in his heart toward Mormons. He is not in Heaven, he is in the Spirit world hopefully being taught the truth. You have to remember that even Jesus showed anger toward those who desecrated his house. I am required to forgive all men but that doesn't mean that I have to praise someone that I believe wasn't a good man. I will leave that up to Jesus and if Gov. Boggs truely repented for condemning United States Citizens to death then I will welcome him in the next life.
Just so you know the edict wasn't issued because of the polygamy issue, that was 20 years later in Utah, it was issued because Mormons were typically abolitionist and in Missouri that was not a thing they wanted around.

It seems you have dislike in your heart towards Mormons. Aren't you in need of repentance by your own logic???
If Boggs was looking out for the good of his constituants (ie the "abused Mormon women") shouldn't his EXTERMINATION ORDER have only been directed to adult, Mormon males?
Interesting that you're supporting an individual who's actions directly caused the deaths of women, children, and men because they practiced a religion they believed in.
Should we all have more tolerance in our hearts for Hitler and his supporters as well??
Just another Mormon hater.

He couldn't have cared less about Mormon women. He issued that edict because he and everyone else, wanted Missouri to be a slave state, and the Mormons wantedit to be free. They were taking over, it seemed. So, it was kill them. And kill them they did. Even shooting a ten year old boy in the head at point blank range and then saing "Nits make lice".

Deut. 18:20 (God Speaking)
But a prophet who presumes to speak in My Name, anything I have not commanded him to say, or a prophet who speaks in the name of other gods, must be put to death.
21, You may say to yourselves, "How can we know when a message has not been spoken by the Lord?" 22 If what a prophet proclaims in the name of the lord does not take place or come true, that is a message the Lord has not spoken. That prophet has spoken presumtuously. Do not be afraid of him.
I forgive Gov. Boggs. I know his intent was to save the people of Missouri from what he percieved as a threat from outsiders. It appears that he did the Mormons more good than harm by providing them with a martyr and a few well documented atrocities which served well as a rallying cry for Bringum Young. Had he not run them out of the state of Missouri, they would never have established themselves in Utah. It would have been far better to let Joseph Smith rot in prison for the crime of adultery, destruction of a mans printing press, subversion, fraud (Book of Mormon, Book of Abraham, Kinderhook Plates), and more.
That is how the Feds chose to deal with Warren Jeffs of the polygamist fundamentalist Mormons of Utah and Arizona. "Strike the shepherd and the sheep will be scattered." Unfortunately Joseph Smith died in a gunbattle at the Carthage Jail instead of facing justice and a long prison sentence in humiliation.
History has now proven Governor Boggs to be the LDS greatest asset.
Of course the LDS are very forgetful of the atrocities they committed against the Indians of Utah whose land was stolen so the Mormons would have a home. Or the Mountain Meadows Massacre where 140 people were rounded up and murdered in cold blood and all their property stolen and kept by the Mormons.
But hey, if we are gonna be gods ourselves someday, that gives us the right to do stuff like that and get away with it. Just dont you dare do it to us. Right?

Yea, and I'm not speaking for all of them but many Mormons have bitterness towards Christians. My aunt was born a Mormon but converted to Christianity when she married my uncle and now her family won't speak to her. If you were born a Mormon and then convert to Christianity your family will disown you in most cases.
FYI the BIG difference between Christians and Mormons: Christians follow Jesus and believe that He is God whilst Mormons believe that they are going to be God.
