I'm afraid that the only thing that will help you to get over the death of your pet is time. Its very hard to mourn a pet, because most people don't understand the depth of love that someone could have for a pet.

Don't fill empty at all for there is a hope for the hopeless and that hope shall never be cut off, just read this and smile! for there is a rain bow day coming your way you just live up to an expectation. Emmanuel.

You get over it slowly.
I still occasionally miss my second dog who died 20 Yr.s ago. (A pretty special little guy.)
A new dog does help.
They're not interchangable of course, but getting involved with the new dog does ease the pang.

Just accept it that somehow your dog needs to rest. You cannot do anything to prolong your dogs life as long you want to. Keep yourself busy or find another dog that you can take care of who also needs the attention of the human.

i lost my dog also like that but think of all the good times you two had and try and get a new pet that people dont want at an animal adoption center.

Dont replace it... if you get another dog dont use it as a replacement because its a living thing and will never be able to be replaced.
