It's been a while since I have seen a mormon commecial but there are several points they always forget to mention. I wonder why. This would be a great commercial if it went something like this:

(First Joseph Smith would have to be introduced)
"This is our beloved Prophet who restored our gospel. He says he has more to boast about than any other man. He had many beautiful wives and was a Master Mason. He wrote the Book of Mormon by transcribing golden plates. He did this by placing them in his hat and reading them with a seer stone.

(Now Jesus has to be introduced)
This is Jesus. He is the brother of Lucifer. If you are completely obediant you can become a God and reside with Him in the Celestial Kingdom.

That should get plenty of converts shouldn't it?

I appolgize for the information about JS translating in his hat. He didn't actually put the plates IN the hat, but he DID look into his hat with a seer stone while talking to his scribe. As for the rest of the information, it is all true. I will email each of you reqesting proof the proper information. I hope you will correct yourself on this question when you recieve the information.

Absolutely! It has truth in advertising - something that has been absent from the LDS church for about 175 years.

Faith in the Lord Jesus Christ and in His restored Gospel for the family is what matters the most in any commercial for the Church.

Contrary to your statement, Joseph Smith did not write the Book of Mormon--he TRANSLATED the words from an ancient reformed Egyptian language into English. After his translation, he then read it. The words were not his, but of inspired prophets centuries ago on the American continent.

Rather than focus on the mysteries or the Hollywood style that you understand, concentrate on the message given by the prophet Joseph Smith and of the paramount additional testament of Jesus Christ--the Book of Mormon.

I get the feeling you don't wish to do so.

I don't know where you got your "Facts" from, but that isn't what the church teaches first. When we talk to those not of the church the VERY first thing that we bring up is our common belief in GOD! Then we talk about the Savior. And in our commercials that are out there, all I ever see them focusing on is the best things in life - that being families, service, faith, and the gifts of the Savior.
As someone earlier said, if you have the facts, PROVE IT! Your word alone is not good enough for me to believe what you say.
And Joseph Smith was a Mason - but the Translation of the plates wasn't done in his hat -- no hat could be big enough to hold them.
As for someone wanting to join the church, all they have to do is talk to members, and see if all the crazy rumors they've heard are true...

Shoot--I wish with all my coronary heart and soul that i ought to have stayed abode with my youngsters. i could in no way have joined such an internet team, yet I useful wish that i ought to have raised my youngsters somewhat of letting the daycare and boys and females membership set the regulations for them and then have me come abode, scramble around getting some form of dinner on, iron my uniform, and then do it as quickly as extra day after immediately. i think of the noblest profession is to boost good human beings. i rather do no longer see how that's some thing to mock, individuals. although, I very very extraordinarily doubt that that's some thing backed by potential of the church--the church management is conscious and knows and helps the shown fact that there are distinctive mothers that have not the different determination yet to artwork. they does not have somebody join a minimum of a few thing so exclusionary. This must be somebody's privately backed internet site. lots of those obtainable. My alleviation society has one (unlike this, of direction.) It is going to tutor that any you could still positioned something on the internet.

I must beg to differ. Smith DICTATED the book of mormon while placing his face in a hat (per avatar to the left). This story was the same one he had been telling your years, and Oliver Cowdery was the perfect fool to start the ball rolling.

Translated?...you betcha

How do you interpret "Funny-looking pack animal with long neck"? Horse? Curlemon? Steel?

Put the plates in his hat huh? Interesting. That must have been one HUGE hat.

What is your reference for that? (Something Joseph Smith himself wrote or said. Please don't tell me someone said that someone else said that he told them that...)

Also, don't be bashing the Masons because Joseph Smith was one. If that's the case, don't look up to the Founding Fathers either. They were all Masons too and they did a lot of good. Maybe you should remember that next time you celebrate the 4th of July.

Yeah, it's a good thing I don't belong to THAT church.

Jesus would be introduced first, as our Lord and Saviour, and screw Satan. And as Paul said, we can be heirs of God and joint heirs with Jesus Christ.

Joseph Smith DID traslate the plates, but he didn't pu them in a hat. '

"For verything I have written I can provide 100% proof." Ok then prove it.

Master Mason he was indeed. All temple rituals, other than watching movies, came from them.
