Being wothout sin is the same as being ethical. Is it ethical to kill someone, in some cases it is. Say that person being alive will do more damage than good. This person is ending lives and therefore their death would be ethical. Then again, who is to decide? Some say God others say ,shoot the bastard! Oddly, the same people who have so much faith in God, don't trust him to take care of the issue and so SHOOT THE BASTARD! Funny, eh?
In the end ,it doesn't matter which sin is worse, they all have their individual consequences and no consequnce can be compared to another. In Dante's Inferno one would be punished depending on what they did in their past life and there were 9 levels of sin. This is where we get the "9th level of Hell". It makes enough sense ,but then again, no justice system is truly blind because no crime is ever black and white. You rob a guy at gunpoint and get $100. So far it seems this guy ought to be locked up. Then you hear his daughter was dying and needed medicine. Makes the situation a bit more complicated ,now doesn't it?

The word sin originates with the Roman Catholic Church... the first christian church... it was created as a means of conquering the known world and hasn't looked back.... so sin is not some fault against something important.. it is a word used to describe those opposing the church only.... they were called heretics or witches... burned alive at the stake or hung..... all in an effort to prove superiority.... you see murder isn't a sin in the church as a matter of fact it sanctions it. It calls forgiveness through it's rituals alone so that the world would believe that it is better..... Ever hear of stories of how slaves came to love their masters through beatings... and brain washing forget they are slaves.... forget once freed they could walk away... like people stealing a candy bar so they could go back to prison.... that's what the church is like... that's what sin means against the church..... the church in the light of day can not stand scrutiny that is why it's a "sin" to challenge it.... but challenge it we must....

No, sins are definitely not equal. Murder is not equal to white lying.

There are mortal or deadly sins (see 1 John) and lesser sins
If one really accepts Christ one will flee all mortal sins.

Once saved is only always saved only if one stays in the state of grace and thinking that one is saved while living in mortal sin is a spiritually fatal delusion.

Murder, spiritual or bodily,is the worst but refusing to repent of mortal sin is actually worse, in a sense, because it is final impenitence and is the sin against the Holy Spirit and spiritual self-murder.

Blessings and peace, Throw Away...:

According to the Catholic Church, there are venial and mortal sins. And according to the doctrinal Catechism, the priest even has the right to over-ride Christ when it comes to forgiving venial sins.

But according to the Bible, all transgression is sin and must be repented of. The penalty of any sin is death, and the smaller the sin, the more guilty the person is because it was easier to resist; hence, eating the forbidden fruit was a simple transgression.

But, in God's eyes, all sins are not equal in magnitude. Premeditated murder required the death penalty. Leviticus 20:14 says to BURN anyone who sleeps with his wife's mother. Also, Exodus 22:18 says Witches must be killed.

God was taking extreme measures to insure Palestine would be a sin-free nation. Even lasiness of children was to be punished by the testimony of the father and mother.

Not so today. God is not maintaining a theocracy on earth, but building mansions for us in Heaven. That is why He allows governments to enforce His laws. Yes, Jesus never condemned the Romans for killing criminals.

One more thing, Throw Away. In the New Testament, there was a man and wife who died in church service because they were stealing money dedicated to the church. Likewise, Achan and his family were killed for stealing consecrated money. Yes, God is not trifled with, so don't belittle Him, but be honest in your dealings.

What is the worst sin, you ask? Well I think murder is awful, except when someone is killed in self defense, or breaking into your home and you fear for your life. Abortion of an unborn child is killing the innocent. I could never bring myself to assist in abortions when I was a Registered Nurse.

If you have any questions of a personal nature on the Bible, please feel free to contact me by e-mail.

Shalom, peace in Jesus, Ben Yeshua

What matters is that we are all in a sinful state. The worst sin is to reject God's forgiveness. Obviously it's the only sin that can't be forgiven, but this is your own choice.

All sins are equal but they are both divided into two sections. Mortal sins and the Venial sins. Mortal sins are sins that you actually know that has been done, Venial sins are that you do not know that is correct. So Mortal Sins are worse.

Wow the answer above me is SUPER LONG.

I think sins are equal in the way they all seperate us from God, until we repent. But, also think that when you are looking at how they affect the people around us, then some are worse than others. So, it depends on what you mean.

I think worshipping another god before the bible-God is the worst sin. The comes like taking his name in vain/murder, then probably adultery, and so on. I'm not really sure. But I do think some are worse than others.

All sins are equal. I mean, they're all sins, so there can't be any sin that is more of a sin than another sin. It's like us humans. We're all people, so there can't be any human who is more of a human than another. We all sin...we're all equal.

Everyone of you sickos insult my intelligence. Sin doesn't exist? Indifference? Would you rather I Sodomize your child or tell you a white lie to protect a birthday surprise?
Jesus said that if anyone would offend any of these little ones, it would be better for him to have a millstone around his neck and cast into the sea.
Translation: There are DEGREES of Hell. Jesus has special places for the likes of Hitler and Catholic Pedophiles(Priests)
