Is there anyone who is a follower of Jesus that doesn't believe this?

Abraham was given the opportunity to know God because he believed God.

Just about everyone in the Old Testament and New that believed in the power of God and searched after him did stuff most people assume to be impossible (Moses, Elijah, Elisha, Jesus, Peter, Paul). If you call yourself a follower of Jesus and claim to know him, then how can you be so dead towards the power of God.

This question was the result of another question. I asked people what they thought about the Vineyard Movement. Most folks said it was weird and bad for Christianity because John Wimber taught that followers today are empowered to do the same stuff as Jesus.

The empowerment is there and available, but I don't think all believers have endeavored to possess it. If people would seek God's presence they would soon hit the main power line with God, then we would see more of the supernatural God of the Bible.

I believe some Christians may do some of the things Jesus did. The Bible verse you are alluding to does not promise fame and fortune or even recognition for doing the things Jesus did.

Yes. Jesus said to go into all the world and proclaim the good news of his coming kingdom and those who believed and were baptized would escape divine judgement but those who refused would be judged and sentenced, and that these signs would follow those that believed in HIS NAME. They would cast out devils, speak with new tongues (heavenly language) take up serpents, (power over the eliments of this world) no harmful drink could hurt them and they would lay their hands on the sick and they would recover..Mark 16:15-21. Yet, do the believing believers believe this? If they did, they would see these signs following them. If you are a true believer in Christ, you have power in Christ name but your intimacy with the Holy Spirit of God must be intact. Are you sensitive to the leading of the Holy Spirit? If not, signs follow those who are yielding and obedient to God and those who don't believe shall never experience it.

Yes.

Jesus was the Only Begotten Son (in the flesh), but we are all children of God with divine potential.

That was the whole point in Jesus' mission.... To be a light to the world... An example for us to follow.

Maybe if they actually followed what they were told?

I haven't seen many abandon their families or give away all of their possesions. Perhaps thats because most ignore jesus's apocolyptic message?

Yes I do believe that! The empowering is the in-dwelling of the Holy Spirit.

Yes. Jesus said that His followers would to what He did and "greater still."

Yes, But you must step out by faith, to proclaim the kingdom of God and the gospel. In other words, you must have allot of faith to begin with.
