i'm cleaning out my room and i came across a picture of my ex and myself, should i throw it out? i'd like to keep it for memories but my current bf probably wouldn't like it esp knowing that he doesn't like to talk about the past in that kind of way. i just wanna keep it for when i'm older; i can look back and remember "oh yea, i remember when i went out with him" that's the only picture we have together and i have a valentine's day card too. should i throw the card out too? i've moved on but for memories sake, what do you think?

thank a lot!

If it means so much to you then you should keep it. It isn't like you are holding on to it as a means to keep the memory of your ex boyfriend alive - you just want a momento of a time in your past that obviously ment something to you and helped make you the person you are today. Your current boyfriend ought to understand that but it's understandable if he is a little upset by it - he would probably rather you only cared for the memories you two share - which is naive and sweet.

I'd ditch the valentine card but I would keep that picture. It's a memory for you. When you get older (and age) you will enjoy being able to look back at yourself. It's nice to have a few young , happy , pretty pictures of ourselves.

I would keep the picture to myself...

Your new bf doesn't need to know you're keeping the picture.. that's your business.. plus I think it'd be hard to explain to him that you are over it but you just want it for memories.. I would throw out the card just because that's a little more intimate..but as far as the picture goes.. keep it..

Keep it. To help ease your boyfriend's mind, either have a very small box for these types of things that is kept stored away and rarely, if ever, looked at. Or toss it in with the rest of your "old stuff" to show it doesn't carry any undue importance

If you had kids together I would say yes, if not I would throw it away. It is always awkward when the 'new flame' see you hanging on to the past.

You can always keep those memeories in you head.

I think you get one of those time capsule things. put the photo and the card away and dig it up or bring it out from where you've put in a couple years. If you bury it, your bf will never know. Mwa ha ha!

Of songs and swans, it jogs my memory of my goddaughter, Justy, on an overdue night's observations of the stars and he or she putting forward Cygnus the Swan and then pointing to the super call Albireo, which she named 'Bobby's star' after her super brother.

put it away in a box with other things from the past.

everyone should have a private memory box if they can ..

memories are what made us who we are.
and though he doesn't need details.. the old guy, your past , led you to him..
