At 13 you can't donate anyway, only after 18. For blood you don't get paid, occasionally you can be selected to donate plasma, but there's a good screening process for that and not everyone gets accepted, and even then it's not much money, and you can only do it every couple months.

Some of the answers indicate that one must be 18 or older to give blood, but I remember giving when I was in high school, and I didn't turn 18 until after I entered college. That was back in the 80s, though, so the laws may have changed, or perhaps state laws come into play.

No. You are DONATING blood. The red cross sets up the kinds of service for people to voluntarily give some healthy blood to save others lives. because people really need blood and that would be more they would have to pay - if they live that is, because every 2 seconds, someone needs a blood transplant, and someday you could be one of them. Just put them in your shoes. People really need blood to survive, unlike sperm banks as mentioned by the first answerer. People do not NEED to have children, but they CAN. People NEED blood to survive, and it is very vital. Please know that services collect donations for the good of all people to make our economy stronger and if that involved paying, it would fall sharply. besides, you are too young to give blood or sperm. You have to be at least 17, so go and nourish your body so that you can donate blood.

I don't know which country you are in, but in most of the western world, one cannot give blood until majority.
Second, there is some kind of contradiction between the concept of "giving" blood and getting paid for it.
Type A is quite common, so there is not much value in it.
Giving blood is supposed to be an altruistic thing to do, not a commercial endeavor. If you want to make money, stay in school, learn a good trade and do a decent honest job; you'll be a lot happier.
