Hello, my husband who is 27 years old was recently just diagnosed with cancer. He is feeling very lost and alone from this news.

I came across the website CaringBridge, and I thought that a website like that might do him wonders for his moral. The problem is, we don't know anyone else with cancer who has a site for him to view.

Eventually I would like him to create one for himself, but I was wondering if anyone had one that they wouldn't mind my hubby taking a peak at?

If you don't have a CaringBridge website but have another website, that would be ok too.

I thank you all in advance.

I've heard of Caring Bridge but never did a website there, it's a good way to keep in touch with friends while going through treatment and not have to rehash everything whenever someone calls or stops by....they can all check up online and then when they stop by for a visit, can talk about other things such as baseball, football, etc.

You might also look at livestrong.org, the Lance Armstrong Foundation's site. It has some very good information on support groups. etc.

Something that I found very beneficial when I was undergoing treatment for cancer 3 years ago was to keep a journal, on the advice of my sister who is also a cancer survivor. I doodled my vision of ways to kill the cancer and poured out my soul in ways that I couldn't do with my husband and sons without over burdening them with my fears and tears. Cancer is a very scary diagnosis but most of us make our way through.

You may also want to ask your husband's doctor about local support groups.

Good luck to you and God bless you.

This isn't really an answer to your question, but I felt compelled to say something. I said a prayer for you and your husband. You are about my age. I lost my dad to cancer. The good news is that the 4 other people in my family that have had cancer have survived, even elderly people, and even with very aggressive cancer. Your husband is young so his chances are better. I hope you and your husband stay strong, that this experience brings you closer and makes your marriage stronger, and that his cancer goes away for good very soon. God Bless.
