Drink something hot, that usually helps me. I know when it's hot out thats the last thing you want to do but it does help. coffee, hot tea, hot chocolate whatever you like best.

Oh honey! I know how you feel!
Try something like Midol or Pamprin, and just try to take it easy.
If they really are hurting REALLY bad, especially if it happens the next time you have your period, ask to talk to your doctor about it. They may suggest putting you on a birth control pill. They help make your period less painfull, AND you'll know when it's going to happen, instead of "SUPRISE! The big red monster's come to visit!".
Also, your doctor may be able to give you a better kind of medicine to help the pain.
And if one kind of medicine doesn't work, try another one!
There's not a whole heck of a lot of over the counter things that will REALLY help with cramps, some do a little, but it'll never get rid of them.
Your cramps are your uterus contracting and pushing out the uterine lining (that's the stuff that looks like blood). Kinda like "mini-labor"!
Anti-inflammatories like asprin and advil won't help a whole lot, because it's a contraction, NOT inflammation.
That is what has helped most for me though.
Try Ibuprofin (advil or motrin) and if it's keeping you from sleeping, try taking a benadryl.
Don't bother with Anything PM. All it is is a medicine, with benadryl! And they jack the price WAY up! lol
Of course try a heating pad, or an ice pack, if heat doesn't work.
Try to relax as much as you can.
Take a night to pamper yourself! Relax, take a nice warm bubble bath (don't get too tired though, cause that might make things worse), eat whatever you want, watch your favorite movie and listen to your favorite music. Try to get some friends to come over! That always made me at least be in a better mood!
:-D
Good luck honey!!!

Hi, I'm Ravishankar from India, a qualified & practicing Yoga therapist & Acupuncturist. I also practice Nadi Pariksha (Ayurvedic Pulse Diagnosis).
I've added a few more lines below.
If you need to help me help you, can you please answer a couple of questions ? I always treat after having understood symptoms. Symptoms always give a clue to what the cause will be & its important to cure the cause. This will eliminate problems totally.
1. Firstly, do you drink water with food, if you do , stop this as this will reduce the power of digestion.
2. Do you lie down soon after food, not necessarily going to sleep.
3.Do you watch TV or talk while eating? Do not do this. Eat with total concentration & eat slowly. Drink water only after 1/2 hour.
4. Do not eat fast foods or foods made of white flour.
5. In case you are suffering from burning sensation when you urinate of pass stools, you need to avoid consuming spicy food.
6. Go to bed before 10 pm latest. & get up by 5 am.
If you can answer these questions, I can help you cure yourself. I've taken the liberty of giving you suggestions, as I am employed by various schools here to cure children of various problems. thier age group ranges from 10 - 18 years of age.
You can write to me to rudra661@gmail.com, which is the email I use very frequently. Also you can join my group healthy-beings@googlegroups.co... where I write articles & answer questions. I started this group the day before yesterday. My whole profile is also listed there.

Cramp - Molasses ( a couple swigs) works faster than bananas -both contain magnisium and potassium - your muscles are screaming for it. Warmth does usually help muscles relax but you are past that.
Remember to drink at least (your body weight divided by two times ounces) of non-sugar liquids daily.
For more information on muscles read The Trigger Point Therapy Workbook by Davies.

place a hot water bottle on your stomach to relieve the pain. If that doesn't work, try exercising because that could actual the muscle tension in your abdomen area and reduce the pain of cramps. Also, drink lots of warm/hot water, or take some advils to relieve the pain.

Lying in bed with a heating pad covering the area of the cramps (lower abdomen) is the best cramp therapy available. You have to lay there for awhile, so don't make any plans, but it WILL help.

Try a hot water bottle. If that doesnt help go to the pharmacy and get something made specifically for period pain, like ponstan.

I only get cramps in my knees, and in that case what I do is stretch them ALOT while laying down, especially when going to bed. It makes them feel kind of exhausted, but it doesn't hurt, and thus I relax enough to sleep.

You'll have to figure out if you like heat or not. Heat used to be worse for me when I was your age. My husband gives me a heating pad for my back (back always hurts too) and an ice pack for my front. Works like a charm for me. I'm still miserable, but not as miserable. :) It will take some time, but you'll find what works best for your body.
