Actually the spirit of Jesus would be something that would ruffle feathers in other cultures.

Then there is the fact that the Catholic religion believes in exorcism, still, to this day.

Hello,

Because the more contentious the question the more answers and attention you get. Ask one like how do I preserve a 100 year old canvas oil paint or how to take road tar off your car you are lucky to get half a dozen answers over the three days.
Ask something like why does such and such a race have low IQ's and fill the jails or that Jesus was a latent homosexual you get a barrage of no less than 30 or more answers in a matter of minutes sometimes.

Cheers,

For some, its cathartic to let their mean-spirited side get out for some free opportunities to jab at someone with impunity. For others, sometimes the only thing they understand is meanness. Its a mixed bag, for sure. Then there are those who ask such atrociously ignorant asinine questions that they deserve to be hit with the hammer of indignity.

So exactly who is hateful, some people who think religion is a crock of $hit and were blunt about it? Religion is nothing more than glorified superstition and it's long been used as an excuse for intolerance, torture, and murder. I remind you that this is a public access Internet forum. Unlike churches and Bible study groups, where membership is carefully limited to people who accept the preferred doctrine and dogma, here everyone is entitled to express their own opinion. In other words, in the R&S forum people are actually allowed to disagree. It's called freedom of speech, Sweetheart.

There's an unprecedented level of personal frustration in the Western world today. People are under personal, financial, social, political and emotional pressures and the constant barrage of bad news we're subjected to by the media doesn't help.

I think people just use the anonymity of the Internet to lash out and dump their frustrations and rage on others who can't respond.

The problem, in the long run, is that this lashing out doesn't really solve any of a person's problems. All it does is reinforce that anger and aggressiveness because there's no restraining balance of compassion.

Personally, I think it's really a sad commentary on our modern too-hi-tech world.

I never heard of that happening to anyone. You call it playing on a person emotion yet meaning no harm. All answers on this site is not to be taken literally cause some joke and some are real in their saying. One must determine for themselves what is good or bad. Just overlook that which is not pleasing to you.

They are immature people who hate themselves. They are also very immature.

They do this to make themselves feel better.
Only insecure people do what they are doing.
Many are little teenagers who are "playing." I have seen several say that this is how they have fun.

It's sad.
There are so many other ways to have fun!
Go to the beach, roller blade, go to movies, parties, shop, read a book, swim, go to the gym, hang with friends, etc.
White water rafting, rappelling, etc.

The possibilities are endless.
They apparently have nothing more to look forward to in life other than attacking others for their beliefs.

It is easier to vent your negative emotion behind the cloak of anonymity - to be who you are - and remain unaccountable( at least that's the thought behind). You can avoid these types by choosing your contacts, more or less, that treats every questions and answers with respect either these run contrary to your personal belief or not.

Unfortunately there is a lot of that on here, but if your willing to ignore it there is also a lot of great people. Just remember that when you give people like this attention they are getting exactly what they want. i know how hard it is to ignore and I often find myself giving them attention, but I am trying hard to stop this. I hope that you will in future have better experiences.
Blessings.

People are people first, and do what they do according to their own causes and conditions, intentions, etc. whether the intent is "virtuous" or not. Best thing to do, work on your own altruism, and wisdom of how you react to those who do this to push your buttons... if you have no more buttons to push... then what? May you find happiness that is freedom from suffering.
