The two most effective weapons of war ever are the Samurai Sword and the Long Bow.

Both weapons require little or no training to use. Swing a Samurai Sword in a crowded room and see what I mean. Likewise twang off a couple of arrows with a longbow and whap, you've hit someone first time, even if they're not dead, they now have an arrow stuck in them. They're more concerned about their wound than about killing you. One more arrow should do the trick.

Of the above two weapons that most deadly is undoubtedly the Longbow, which can keep an advancing army at a distance of 200 years with little effort.

The Longbow is dead cheap to make and a single Ewe Tree will yield hundreds of bows all cut from staves made from the outer and inner wood. So cheap is the Longbow that boys aged 9 were given them in England.

Surely the best weapon is also the the most destructive and therefore the worst. Weapons are designed to kill so a nuclear bomb must be best.

Personally I think we'll all be better off when we view them as a last resort and a sign of failure.

Lies, although not invented it is lies that fuel war, make ppl money, and get ppl killed. Also lies have been used by our founding fathers and our president since the dawn of the united states. Lies are possibly the best weapon any world leader has. For example if a president wants to go to war he first has to set up a believable "lie" as to why he wants to go to war, the rifle the bomb and the war force only comes after the lie has been used.

Cutting or disparaging remarks can really hurt...

I wouldn't think that a nuclear bomb could be considered a 'best weapon' due to its destructive nature...

The BEST? Do you actually think that things that kill and maim are good? I bet that you have never been in the military and probably hav'nt even got pubic hair yet. If you had seen any combat you would never talk about fetishising death and mutilation. I do not want to hear about your repulsive pornographic war fantasies, investigate sex and travel.

Germ Warfare. It's invisible, portable, mutable, hard to detect, even harder to stop, doesn't destroy property, can kill massive numbers with a very small amount and can be introduced by air, water, skin contact, or surface contact.

For instance: Thousands and thousands of Native Americans were killed with blankets infected with smallpox.
