different Christian faiths. Like say, Catholic, Methodist, Presbertyrian(I spell that right?) and any others. There is no limits on what it is as long as you claim to be a Christian.
What do you believe? The basics of your faith? Why do you feel that this branch of Christianity is more right than the others? Please give a reference if you can, if not just that it feels right to you is enough.
For the curious, I study all faiths and right now I am exploring Christianity more fully. I own several Bibles, and a few Bible Study help books.
Thank you for telling me about your beliefs.

ebenjosiah--- you certainly had a lot to say, but you contradict yourself the more you speak. But to answer you, I own several different Bibles because I, like any good scholar will, choose to.
As far as your comments, you seem to think you know God and Diety pretty well, but you yourself said that no mortal can know Him, and I guess that makes you Immortal?
I hope that you find peace and choose not to further attack anyone who only seeks knowledge. Please do not confuse knowledge with wisdom. I know all about that, however, you, sir, should seek professional help for that anger problem and the megolomania you seem to have

Oh no. You asked for references. Be prepared for the cutting and pasting to begin!
Oh as for your question about which is right. Keep in mind that Revelations, the part of the bible that says you can't add to it, was written long before most of the New Testament was. That and the bible was assembled by men in the Council of Nicea.

Saint Pyr is the Patron Saint of Drunkards, and he is celebrated by members of the SCA for no particular reason save feasting and drinking.
Rumor has it that this Welsh Abbot stumbled home after a drunken brawl, fell down a well and drowned at an undisclosed period in the 6th century. Some claim that it was a mistake to make him a saint, but you will note that Alcohol was never a problem for Saint Pyr...it was only when he drank water that he died.
It is said that mankind has four humors. Blood, Yellow Bile, Black Bile, and Phlegm. As Saint Pyr is a more elevated man, he has five humors that are more refined and consist of a fine schnapps, a strong beer of good October brewing, a refined cognac, a temperamental single malt, and the elusive fifth humor which is said to be the finest drink imaginable, but is more likely whatever Pyr had a taste for and could afford at the time.
It is also good to know that Santa Claus (Saint Nicholas) is also both the Patron Saint of Children and the Patron Saint of Thieves. Which could explain why we keep seeing Christmas items pooping up earlier and earlier on store shelves.

Hey Seeker, I'm another one of those bible hoarders. I have five. Two Thompson's, one hardback for study I've had for years it's about worn out, The other is the soft cover for carry and church. Not so heavy. Two American Standards and the catholic versions in Cebuano. (Philippino). Why do these nuts think a different translation means different words or meanings?
Frankly I do most of my reading at bibleresources.com where I can get all versions in large print free. People put so much pride in their intellect. I wonder if they did homework in school. Probably to smart.
I'm Pentecostal because I choose to be. There's is more fire and enthusiastic worship there. It's more fun and mostly the word.
It doesn't matter one bit what church you go to as long as they believe Jesus son of God arisen and in heaven to come again.
Pretrib posttrib who cares just love Jesus and everything else will turnout OK. My license is non-denom. My church would be all denom.
God Bless!

I am a member of the Mormon church, you would best be informed by the official website rather than me going on forever and a day.
Our church believes that the fullness of christianity was restored following a period of apostasy or falling away from the original mission. However,a very important tenet of our church and, infact, one of our articles of faith is that everyone should be allowed to make up their own minds.I have my beliefs but i wouldn't rant on about it,i know how lame that can be !.
The ideas of heaven and hell are not quite so simple/clear cut in our faith, there is a lot more to it than simply drawing a line in the sand.
It is our convicton that many groups have fallen away from the original inspired truths of Christ and become entangled in other stuff such as church politics etc. This is not to suggest that the LDS church is utterly perfect !,we are sinful human beings after all.
It is my general leaning to avoid fundamentalism in favour of a clear head and the simple recognition that i could study for ever and eternity and still know practically zip.
Christ makes me a better chap every day,or he would do if i obeyed him rather than doing my own sweet thing.
Many are surprised just how "open" and non-crazy the LDS church is these days,i certainly was.I joined it because i had been moving in that direction for about three years, this stemmed from my conviction that there was more to the gospel than the established organisations were offering.

I did as you are doing many years ago. I even studied non Christian faiths of all sorts before deciding on Catholicism. The yellow pages of your telephone book works very well. Go down the list and contact each one personally and tell them your quest. Also tell them that you are searching and want the basics, not X number of months of study. The study comes only when you decide you want that. Pass by any that don't want to give you info. There will always be another church of the same denomination that will. 'Seek and ye shall find. Ask and you shall receive.'

Yes, you have come to the right place with your question!
After you have come to the end of the knowledge of all the experts here, you might try to google for comparative studies of religions. I give you two sites.
I have noticed that kwistenbiebelism is not listed. No problem, just come back when you have finished studying everything on these two sites. I will tell you everything bout kwistenbiebelism, but want to remind you right now, to avoid desillusions that we are not open for new members, contrary to most other, so-called "religions". Check where that word comes from and you will see what I mean.
Have a nice day.

I feel that My faith lies in the world around me. I try to live an honorable life thinking of others feelings as I would like to be treated. I have not been to church in ages but I still believe that God has a purpose for me because of a near death experience. I had Pneumonia(sp) say 10- 20 years ago and was treated with that bad batch of Albuterol(sp). I went down like a rock and was inches from death. I spent a week in the hospital recovering to normal. I believe God has work for me to do because of the near death experience. That is how I feel.

I'm Catholic. The Catholic Church was founded by Jesus Christ Himself after His Resurrection when he told St. Peter, "Upon you I shall build my Church." I know the quote isn't exactly word for word but pretty close. If you want to know more about the Catholic Church there are several websites that can help you but to truly understand what we believe read the Four Gospels. Some websites that may be able to help you are:
http://www.catholic.com
http://www.catholic.net
http://www.vatican.va
http://www.ewtn.com (this may have a little info for you.)

The different denominations attract people who wish to worship and practice their religion in a particular way. They differ in traditions and beliefs, some of which are Biblical and some are not. You will need to know your Scripture to tell which churches follow scripture and have leaders who are true Christians - for many don't.

They are NOT different faiths, they are different denominations. Indeed it is hard to argue that Islam, Christianity and Judaism are different faiths, they are the peoples of the book.
For an objective view of the Bible , I would recommend the "Oxford companion to the Bible" OUP
