I was thinking about having an outdoor wedding because I always thought it would be nice but every outdoor wedding I went to was miserable because it was hot and you get feasted on by mosquitoes. But in a way I still want one, but there is no way to know what the weather will be like. I'm gettnig married next year in July and I live in Georgia so do you think a outdoor wedding is a good idea or no?

I think that an outdoor wedding in July in GA is going to be miserable and you won't be able to predict whether it will rain or not.

Maybe you could have just the ceremony outside, but the reception inside. But if you do have the ceremony and/or reception outside, consider getting a tent and lots of fans!

We decided no. It's just too much hassle to deal with weather, bugs, temperature, seating, mud, uneven ground....etc.

When you have a outdoor wedding not only do you have to plan for an outdoor wedding but you have to plan the indoor backup wedding in case the weather is bad.

We found indoors was cheaper and you know there wont be any of those issues. Unless you are super outdoorsy or have a sentimental tie to some park or something go indoors. Your question definately indicates you weren't a fan of the outoor weddings you have been to.

If you want an outdoor wedding than have one. I would suggest that you pick a cooler month either May or September, because Georgia in July is pretty hot and you don't want everyone (including you) to be miserable.

If the month is not negotiable, maybe an evening wedding and make sure you have lots of tiki lanterns to keep away the bugs, maybe a tent too!

Good luck!

July in Georgia is going to be hot, so if you want to have an outdoor ceremony, you can, but be sure to take the heat into consideration. Pick a time later in the evening, a venue that offers shade, and have bug spray, hand held paper fans, and maybe even a cooler of drinks available for the guests. Make sure there is plenty of seating for anyone that needs it, elderly, handicapped, pregnant, etc, and have a backup place, in case of bad weather. Best wishes!

I do agree the weather would be hot but I'd say still go for it. You can have the wedding later in the evening when the sun goes down. You can also use a tent.

It will be entirely too hot! What you can do is have the ceremony either in the morning or the early evening and have the reception indoors. The best of both worlds!

I lived in GA for over 12 years and I do not miss those summers!

I had an outdoor wedding in a gazebo. I'm in SC, not much of a difference. Have your wedding outside!

Absolutely not. July in Georgia is just not tolerable. Air conditioning is your friend.

no. i will be 95 degrees and no amount of handheld fans etc will help. but if you have your heart set on it then print your programs on heavy cardstock and glue them to big popsicle sticks and make fans, have plenty of bottled water on hand (get personalized lables on ebay and use them as your favor) and try to keep it short and sweet and then move inside (air conditioned) and have your receptin
