Because the places where Christians do their mission work is not based on what religion is there, but on the poverty level there.

It would help bring unity to the body of Christ around the world. I have heard a great deal about the persecuted churches in many parts of the world. Right now churches were just burned to the ground in Orissa State, in eastern India. At first it was the Maoists who were doing this and now it's the Hindus. Certainly the devil has been instigating these things all over the world to bring persecution on the believers. Hebrews 13:3 reminds us to remember those who are suffering for their faith. Also, Eph. 6:18 tells us to pray earnestly for the believers all over the world. So many lies keep going around about the Christians. Currently the Hindus spread the lie around that the Christians caused all the trouble in Orissa, but the Maoists caused the trouble. There were 60,000 to fled into the forest just a few weeks ago. The persecution goes on with more burnings and hatred among those who are hateful. We are always taught to forgive and bless our enemies but we get blamed for many things we had nothing to do with.

The CIA's way off on the US, so maybe they're wrong about mexico too. They may not be in the best position to differentiate between professing Christians and practicing Christians.

Two reasons: (1) missions do more than proselytize. They also run hospitals and schools and orphanages. So they can be useful. (2) Mexico is mostly Catholic, and Protestant religions want to convert the Mexicans to their particular brand of Christianity.

They're the wrong flavor of Christian. They must be reformed from Chocolate Christian to Vanilla Christian, or they will be eternally damned in lakes of hellfire. THEIR SOULS MUST BE SAVED!

because their way of Christianity is worth less to American Christians , they are below of what American Christian arrogance stands for ,so they go out and lay their superiority smack onto some poor folks who are happy to get a little help .
that's why ,my friend - I don't believe for a moment that it has anything to to with compassion! it is just to make them the way the others are! Christians don't agree among Christians and that is that!

Because Mexicans aren't their kind of Christian. The poor, homeless, and hungry are easy targets to convert even if it is within the same religion.

It's not so much to work on conversions, just the poverty level in Mexico is much higher than the U.S.
