Check out this game sometime, it's pretty fun. You get 100 years (10 turns at a decade apiece) to make European policy decisions. It monitors your food, water, energy, and money levels, your CO2 emissions, and your approval ratings. At the end of the game it gives you an environmental, economic, and approval score.

I did great in environmental and approval, but pretty shitty economically. D'oh!

I guess it's one of those situations that you can't win - if you do well in one or two areas you're bound to do bad in the others.

No matter what I did it wasn't possible to do well in all three areas at the same time.

Who'd be a politician eh?

Thanks for the link, I'd seen it before and when I tried to find it I couldn't.

well the game is entertaining and informative (i enjoy simulations) but the end result just shows how difficult it must be to balance environmental care, politics, finanace, and public opinion. i'm not sure if it's a no-win scenario the way the game is set up, or perhaps i don't see other priorities in the same light i see my own.

reality check: i'll have to try again, but i was voted out of office after 50 years. not exactly 'inspiriing' leadership, hmm?

Wow its pretty sad when we think of Global Warming as a game. I already know how it works in real life you have the guys that scream the loudest that get the government funding, it doesn't matter if your right or not. Matter of fact in the game of life its about having political backing, and support from all the TV stations, newspapers, and radio. So in the end its not about who is right or wrong its about $$$$$$. Its not about research, or who can come up with the prettiest graphs its about who can sell there side and make it look better then the other side So that game you have is point less and stupid, its nothing like real life.

They should let people control policy decisions for real, in all areas. It would be better than what the politicians come up with.

Very fun
I was doing great in all areas untill the last turn. They force you to keep doing things, when everything was perfect. With money to burn I increased pensions, and "supposedly" left the economy in ruins.

Oh well.
