Hello everyone.

I read that when a pomeranian gets old, often times it's hair tends to "fall out" and it ends up getting bald patches on it's body. Is this true? I'm just wondering because my grandma has one, and she's worried about it.

Thank you.

Older dogs can sometimes develop Low Thyroid condition, which can cause hair loss. It is not specific to certain breeds.

If your Grandma's dog starts showing signs of hair loss, then have the vet check it out. There is medication for it and it is inexpensive.

There is such a thing as pattern baldness in some dogs , but I wouldn't take the chance of anything worse happening to the dog. If Grandmas dog is loosing hair a skin scraping and or an examination by her Veterinarian may be in order

Only if your grandma has the same problem.
