keep it simple. steaks from your grill, baked potato, salad and a good wine then cheesecake or strawberry short cake. be sure and don't forget the whip cream............long hours over the stove does not make for a romantic night.

Lobster with Cesar salad and chocolate Mousse - Sparkling wine (Mumm Nappa or Gloria Ferrer well chilled)
This is easy - special and not as difficult as it sounds:
-At the store that sells the lobster they will usually steam it for you (saving you the effort and preventing overcooking) Get a Ready Pac Cesar salad (it comes with cheese, croutons and dressing), 1 box milk chocolate instant pudding, 1 box dark chocolate instant pudding, cool whip, 1 or 2 bottles sparking wine.
At home place lobsters in the oven on 250 to keep warm, place the sparkling wine in the fridge with 2 glasses to cool, then make pudding according to box fold together in a bowl and add in cool whip place mixture in martini glasses and refrigerate (you will have enough for 6 servings so you can put the rest in a sealed bowl for later. Shower and dress for dinner.Just before he arrives make the salad, microwave some butter with garlic and parsley (to serve with the lobster)and set the table - uncork the sparkling wine and prepare to relax and enjoy a 4 star meal on a 2 star price. GOOD LUCK!

I think you know best. What does he love to eat?
Or what's something you remember eating with him early on a date where you both "knew".
For my GF and me, sausages are the most romantic. Sounds weird, but sometimes romance is all about knowing one another and recreating a joy that only the two of you share.

Just some advice. I'm sure you'll find a nice recipe.
Do as much work before your man gets there as possible, certainly all prep work, setting the table, etc. Spend as much time as possible with your man and clean up later.
He'll remember what a wonderful evening you're celebrating. And you!

I agree with the first answer...there is nothing like a big juicy ribeye!! I love it with a baked potato and some creamed spinach and a nice big salad.

SEAFOOD LINGUINE WITH MUSHROOMS &
GARLIC CREAM SAUCE
1 lb. med. peeled & deveined shrimp
3 tbsp. real butter
8 oz. mushrooms, sliced
3 med. garlic cloves
1/2 tsp. dried rosemary, crumbled
Freshly ground pepper
1/2 c. heavy whipping cream
Salt to taste
4 oz. dried linguine
2 oz. Bel Paese cheese, cut into sm. cubes (if unable to find Bel Paese cheese, you can substitute garlic & herb Alouette cheese)
1/4 c. chopped fresh parsley
Melt butter in a heavy, large skillet over a medium low heat. Add garlic and mushrooms and a generous amount of fresh grated coarse black pepper. Cook until mushrooms exude their juices, stirring occasionally, about 5 minutes. Add shrimp and cook until they are starting to turn pink. Add cream and shrimp until sauce thickens slightly, about 3 minutes. Season with salt.
Meanwhile, cook pasta in large pot of boiling, salted water. Add oil to water to keep pasta from sticking together. Drain well.
Add pasta and cheese to sauce and stir until cheese melts. Transfer to plates. Sprinkle with parsley and serve.
SPINACH, FETA AND BACON SALAD
1/2 c. olive oil or vegetable oil
3 tbsp. Dijon mustard
1 tbsp. cider vinegar
1 tbsp. fresh tarragon (or 1 tsp. dried)
1 tsp. sugar
SALAD:
6 c. torn fresh spinach
2 1/2 oz. feta cheese, crumbled
6 slices bacon, crisply cooked (or more)
Blend all dressing ingredients well; refrigerate to blend flavors.
Arrange spinach on 6 individual salad plates; sprinkle with cheese and bacon. Serve with dressing.
TIP: Feta cheese is more flavorful if allowed to be at room temperature or slightly heated.

1 tub 8 oz refrigerated crescent rolls

On an ungreased baking sheet, separate dough into four rectangles; seal perforations. Spread 1 tablespoon cream cheese lengthwise down the center of the rectangle. Place ham widthwise over the dough. Bake at 375 for 15 minutes. Top with slice of Swiss cheese; bake 5 minutes longer or until cheese is melted and pastry is golden brown.
*************Dijon Green Beans
1-1/2 pounds fresh green beans, trimmed or 3 can of green beans

********AMAZING MACARONI SALAD
1 package elbow noodles
3 roma tomatoes
1 small purple onion
1/4 cup sweet relish
1 small can chopped/sliced olives
6 hard boiled eggs
3/4 cup mayonnaise
1/4 cup mustard

Boil noodles until soft, drain, rinse let cool in refrigerator, while cutting everything else. Dice tomatoes cut onions finely cut eggs (like making deviled egg sandwich) then mix together all ingredients at or leave out whatever you want to liking!
Best if made day before.
********BANANA AND STRAWBERRY PUDDING
1 box of Jello French Vanilla Instant pudding
1 box of Jello Banana Cream Instant pudding
milk
1 large container of Whipped cream
3-4 ripe bananas
1 small carton of strawberries
1 bag of the cheapest vanilla wafers (they stay crunchy longer)
The amount of layers depends on the dish it is prepared in. I use an 11x9 in. glass casserole dish.
In a bowl combine both boxes of pudding mix and prepare according to the package directions omitting 1 cup of milk.
Fold half of the whipped cream into the pudding mixture. Now make a layer of vanilla wafers on the bottom of your casserole dish (none of the wafers should be on top of one another), then slice bananas over the wafers until you get an even cover but you should still be able to see the first layer.
Now slice strawberries over the bananas. The next layer will be the pudding. Start over with the vanilla wafers, continue layer up to the pudding.
After you've applied a layer of pudding, line the sides of the pan with wafers. Take the rest of the whipped cream and spread it on top.
Crush the remaining wafers and crumbs, and then sprinkle them on top of whipped cream.
Optional: Garnish top with strawberries.
********DEEP - DISH PECAN PIE

1 tbsp. vanilla
1 ½ c. pecans (may use walnuts)
Preheat oven to 350 degrees. Beat eggs with whisk in medium bowl. Mix in corn syrup, sugar, butter and vanilla until well blended.
Spread pecans on bottom of pie shell. Pour egg mixture over pecans SLOWLY.
Bake 1 hour. Cool and serve. It's very good!
