I definitely support out troops and I hope that they all come back come soon and safe. Any man or woman who flies off to defend our country deserves our support.
I don't agree with the war, but the soldiers don't make those kinds of decisions.
As for people who make ugle remarks about the US, they are just ignorant. The US is not perfect and they can be criticized, but when comments turn ugly and personal, I think it's not right.

I haven't heard anyone saying anything badly about the troops but I've heard (and said) a lot about what's going on in Iraq. It is disgusting that oil and money are what is controlling this situation, and that the troops have been put in there as pawns. This isn't digging out your little Battleship game and guessing coordinates in hopes of sinking your opponent's ships- it is people's lives who our government is playing with. They would rather see our fathers and mothers, our brothers and sisters, our cousins, our friends, go off and be killed in the name of what they are passing off as a threat to our freedom.
What people fail to comprehend is that we were attacked once, on one day. Iraq is being attacked every day for over four years, and they had nothing to do with what happened on 9/11. This is some little game Bush is playing because his dad failed to do away with Hussein back in the 90's. Hussein is now gone and our troops are still there, obeying his commands and continuing to die or get wounded for something that doesn't make sense to the common American. And it is certainly not because they're ignorant- these people listen to the news on a regular basis and they cringe when they hear of how many people, American or Iraqi, die in one day. They gasp when they read about conditions at Walter Reed. They tear up when they think of this government and how little our troops mean to Bush and his cronies.
4 years of battle in Iraq is a hell of a repercussion for one day in New York City.

Yes I support the troops and the War. I might not agree with the way it has been fought at times (too many poli's trying to run it instead of letting the pro's do
People from other countries and some from America say America has messed up and talk about how the war is going and how America had to go at it alone.
The only reason America had to go it alone as they say is because the other governments (France, Germany etc) didn't have the balls to back up their resolutions that they put on Iraq and Iraq disregarded.
why have the UN if they wont back up what they say. I have a friend who has kids, he always threatens them with punishments and then never follows up with them. his kids are belligerent disrespectful and do what they want, why because he never follows up with what he says another friends always means what he say and says what he means his kids are well behaved well manored. why because he backs up his words.
Saddam took the international community as a joke the sad part is he was mostly right, his mistake was that he took George bush and America as part of that group..

People who make these comments, make them for different reasons. Some are just not educated, or juvenile comments, some are because certain situations cause people to feel anger or hatred. In the military there are many people who act responsibly and care about what they are doing, and there are many who come from bad or undereducated backgrounds ( often in the south ), who screw up, get themselves in trouble ( often affecting people in the countries they are in...because they really beleive that since they are Americans, they are better than the local population-and flaunt it. Rather than being humble, many Americans act too proud for their own good. This causes resentment from non-Americans. I support the ground troops who really risk their buts out there, not the officers in the C&C who take all the credit for what the grunts do.

I actually haven't ever heard someone making "ugly remarks" about the troops themselves, just about the war. And frankly, anyone who is currently volunteering for the armed forces knows they're going to Iraq. I feel sorry for the National Guard troops who got caught up in this, because fighting in a foreign war was probably not what they signed up for. Anybody else? Sorry, there's no draft (yet) so they knew the score.

I support the troops, not the war.
I am beside myself on how grossly they have been treated by Bush, cutting VA hospitals while giving tax cuts to the rich!
Three years into the war, and with 105,000 being treated at VA he cuts their budget. He doesn't respond until it hits the headlines that the government is being sued because they are not treating those who have been wounded!
At Ft Carson, they threw out 22,000 military for "Pre-existing Personality Disorders" AFTER they had 1 or 2 tours in Iraq, many had been within 20 feet of an explosion and many had Purple Hearts! All so we didn't have to pay them!
I think the US deserves most of the Ugly remarks we get. We are proving to be a country that cannot be trusted and one that the rule of law does not apply to those in power! Though we expect everyone else to follow it!
Even the military deserves a lot of criticizm, like this!
I know it isn't all, but it is too many, and today the whole world can see it for themselves, even if some are taken out of context. The military represents the US in Iraq and should conduct themselves in a manner that is not unbecoming!

Of Course I support the troops, as should everyone. Those men and women do what others can't, they have the courage to rick their lives in the battlefield to keep their fellow countrymen safe from harm. Whether or not the war or conflict is nobel, the people who give their lives to fight it are.

They are entitled to their own opinion.
But they are just as ignorant as those who say that those who do not support the war should leave the country.
EDIT: again, Not supporting the war, does not mean not supporting the troops.
A lot braver than most in the United States
EDIT #2: Well its just as ignorant as tv talk show hosts (Bill O'Reilly) and politicians who have never been in an actual combat situation saying how it is to the public through the media. THOSE people should bite their tongues since they have no clue what war is like (Dubya)

I think that any American citizen that makes disparaging remarks about any other person (especially military) who is trying to make it safer for them is an idiot and ungrateful.
The current wave of protestors have never felt the urge to give anything back to this country. They've never been involved in any life or death battles for their freedom and feel that simple protests will make everything turn out okay.
The great thing about this country is its freedom. These idiots have the freedom to move to another country better suited to their beliefs. This freedom was given to them by other military people who died so that idiots like this could have this right.

there is no dobut if people in the u.s support the troops. they really do. most people just don't support for the war. i'm thankful for the soldiers, if people didn't volonteer there would be a draft, i don't want my brother to go to war. but I know people in Iraq and I fully support them. in the north and south anyone who outwardly says they don't support the trros in a public place would probibly get cussed out. this isn't nam, people have changed.
