No. I don't think that as cats grow older, they get ugly. All cats are cute and people who get rid of their cats as they grow older, obviousely, don't understand the real meaning of being an owner. Being an owner means you have to love your pet, NO MATTER WHAT. Yes, you're right. There are some dogs that grow older and stay cute, but is that what catches everyone's attention? Be happy with what you got. All animals are cute, even if they're old.

My kitten got only cuter when he grew up. People comment all the time on his "baby face". My other cat is still really cute too, but he doesn't look like a baby.
I guess it is all in the eyes of the beholder. If you actually love the animal, it doesn't matter how they change, they are still beautiful. Just as with people, when it comes down to it, it isn't all about looks. It is what is in the heart and how you feel about them that matters.
I mean seriously, what happened to you? You used to be a cute little baby and now you are just a mean, old, jacka$$!
May I make one request? If you only like kittens, don't get one. It WILL grow up. It doesn't deserve your prejudice just because it isn't a baby anymore.

I don't think they do.
Kittens have baby features, which is probably what you're responding to. They have large eyes and heads and tiny ears, short bodies, stubby tails, and the facial features are in the front in a very small area. As they grow, the skull lengthens, their faces get longer, the ears larger, the bodies and legs get longer (they have a teenager phase) and the tail goes from 4" to 12".
Dogs go through these proportion changes too, except for the ones bred to keep their baby shapes as long as possible.

Well I bet you were a cute baby but look - now you're an ugly adult!
If you think cats are so ugly stay out of the cats section - we don't want you here! And no - I think cats of all ages are beautiful animals.

To me the cuteness is in their faces no matter how old they are. Some faces are cuter than others. If you go to your local animal shelter you will see many older cats, some with not so cute faces, and some with cute eyes and faces.
I have a cat I got from a shelter. His body is not cute, in fact quite ugly, but those eyes and face will always be kitten like to me.
Everything that grows up looses their cuteness.

Personally, I hate kittens. I agree that they are cute and good for a few laughs but they are so much work. Older cats are mellow and pretty much do their own thing, don't need as much attention as a kitten. Plus, there are so many older cats (dogs too) that need homes, why not give them the chance to be loved too?

I think adult cats are beautiful, too. I don't know of any breed of cat that stays small.
In all seriousness though, one of my classes talked about what adults, especially parents, think is cute. That biologically speaking, parents are hardwired to think that little round faces and short noses are cuter (and bring out parental instincts) than the longer faces and snouts/noses of adults - this applies to people, dogs, cats, birds, whatever.
I couldn't find a source though - sorry.

I actually prefer adult cats. I think they are able to be more expressive with their faces and movements. Ragdolls, Ragamuffins, and mixes of those breeds kind of always keep a bit of the baby look to them, and they have big blue eyes.

I don't think that cats lose their "cuteness" when they grow up. If anything I think that many of them turn from "cute" to beautiful.
