Dog too thin wow.... & they came out! AMAZING!!!
Funny...people never call Animal Control when they really should & A. C. never seem to show up in my town when it's REALLY urgent! I have Neighbors who leave their dogs out in 100 degree weather & 22 below weather & AC won't do ANYTHING!!! TOO many dogs at the kennel already they say! "Have you recorded or taped them beating a dog???" 3 DIFF FAMILIES HAVE REPORTED THESE PEOPLE IN THE PAST YR.
They also like to used the new catch fraise "neighbor dispute" & say people are just fighting with people by reporting animal abuse. Leaving dogs in a yard full of rocks when it's 90 + out is abuse! Plus you should be pissed at your neighbor for doing it! The only way to find out if someone abuses their pet at home IS if a neighbor reports it!

Thats sad. My greyhound is very thin, 55 lb female. We got her four months ago. They say they will gain 5-8 lbs after leaving the track. I'll have to say, she eats like a horse, and even eats my other dogs food and does not gain weight. Shes very active though, goes on lots of walks and runs around the backyard. Sounds like your neighbor needs to be educated on different breed standards.

I don't think you neighbor is stupid, just ignorant. They did not realize that thin is breed standard for a Greyhound. They probably thought you were starving your dog and wanted to report the abuse. More people should get involved in the protection of animals in this day of mis-treatment and abuse.
I say KUDOS to your neighbor. NO HARM ~ NO FOUL

Apparently your neighbor has no idea what a greyhound looks like, but now they probably do. I would be mad if my neighbors did that. Just come over and ask before you start calling the cops.

I had a neighbor that called on me for hitting my dogs because when they are in the backyard, I clap to get their attention and then they know it is time to come in.
He would hear the clapping and thought I was hitting my dog.
What is funny is the animal control officer came and said that he had never seen LESS abused animals in his life. My dogs are about as worried about getting hit by lightning as they are that I'm going to hit them.
Kinda funny. My neighbor did apologize. He was new in the neighborhood and didn't know me. I told him, better safe than sorry, so I didn't mind.

Sounds like they just don't know the proper way for your dog to look. Like people calling animal control cuz a Puli is matted. Don't worry about it. Animal control understands what's going on. That's the most important thing. Besides the fact you're properly caring for your dog.

Sometimes neighbours should mind their own business. Greyhounds are thin, born thin, will always be thin and will die thin. Your neighbour obviously knows nothing about dogs. Try not to worry, just buy them a ticket fot the next sailing of the Titanic. It will make you feel better !

Thats too funny..........arent Greyhounds generally skinny, but at least you know they cared enough to make the call so if something really was wrong or another dog wasnt being fed(not yours) they have the right idea!

We have two Greyhounds...
