Vanilla (fresh and extract)
Coffee (i've heard it can be good for your skin)
Baby Oil

Mix sugar with baby oil and rub all over your body. I prefer olive oil, but baby oil should work too.

Hello!
As I dont know your actual skin type the only thing I can suggest at this point is mixing the SALT and the BABY OIL together (really it should be olive oil). Get into the bath for ten mins and let your skin soften then stand up and gently massge the mixture in circular motions starting at your ankles, up your leg, on the bum etc etc- working towards your heart. Then sit down and do your arms and your chest last. The trick of a body scrub is how you apply it-its about massage as well as lifting old skin!
After this you could always apply a little milk with honey onto your skin to give it some relief from the scrubbing. Ensure you rinse of well or all the bees and wasps will be attracted to you!!
Anyway I hope that helps and your tan is looking lovely!
Hugs
Fizzy

Brown Sugar Jojoba Scrub

next recipe>

Brown sugar body scrubs are sold in upscale beauty departments with a big markup - but when you look at the ingredient list, they're really not that complicated. So why not save yourself money and make sure you're getting only the most natural ingredients by whipping up your own scrub right there in your kitchen?
Ingredients:

* 1 cup granulated brown sugar (raw brown sugar might be too abrasive, though appropriate for calloused areas of the body)
* ½ cup jojoba oil (or extra virgin olive oil)
* 2 tablespoons honey

Directions:

Mix ingredients together in a bowl. To save the unused portion, transfer to plastic container with a tight-fitting lid. Make sure to store unused portion in cool, dry location and stir before reusing.

Pure, unprocessed brown sugar is derived from sugar cane juice, a natural source of glycolic acid. But even if you buy the more processed variety, the granular texture of brown sugar will help to remove dirt and toxins from the skin's outer layer, gently exfoliating dead cells. The scrub will also help improve blood flow to the skin's surface, while jojoba oil will sink in to replenish lost moisture. Honey will help to bind the ingredients while acting as a natural antimicrobial. Honey's healing powers have been valued since ancient times. Today modern science is rediscovering its dermatological benefits, including its enzymatic ability to stimulate new cell growth.

We're sweet on this beauty recipe not just for its results but also for the relaxing ritual of its application. The subtle molasses scent will remind you of oatmeal cookies, enlivening your senses while you invigorate your circulation and give your skin a healthy glow.

Body Scrub with Coffee

3 Cups of Ground Coffee - never use the whole beans. Use fine ground for very sensitive skin or the courser ground for normal skin.

3/4 Cup of either (this is a personal choice, though you can try both - also halve the recipe and try both out this way) - Sugar in the Raw (grocery store) or Sea Salt (I use the finer ground rather than the really coarse ground), (grocery store, health food store).

5 Tablespoons Sweet Almond oil or another carrier oil of your choice.

.5% preservative unless you're going to use this all at once, right after making, which you can. If it's for a gift, I'd add the preservative - you cannot be too safe and it's a very small amount.

Mix all ingredients together, OR, if you'd like to try out both the sugar and salt scrub at the same time, as you'll have enough, use 1 1/2 cups of coffee in each and a little under 1/2 cup of salt and sugar in each. Also, half the carrier oil, about 2 1/2 to 3 Tablespoons. Mix if you're making both, in separate bowls. Add your preservative if making for gifts. This recipe can be doubled, tripled or make however much you want to.

You can also use the flavored coffee, ok, I love the vanilla flavored ones - also the hazelnut and many like the mocha/chocolatey coffees. Those work just as well and especially for gift-giving, if you make small jars up, you can do a few different flavors as a treat for someone.

To use:
Get in the shower - this is not for the bath. Use fairly hot water, as it opens your pores. Get good and wet, turn down the shower - then take the scrub (circular motions are good, getting someone else to do it is always better!) and rub all over. Smells great, increases circulation, exfoliates and takes dead skin off - but please, do NOT shave prior to doing this, it'll sting like crazy. This is for pampering and helping your skin to grow new cells, while shedding the old ones.
Rinse off, pat dry, be gentle and follow up with a nice cream or lotion. http://www.gather.com/viewArticle.jsp?articleId=281474976971150

sugar and baby oil good or olive oil. You can mix sugar with nice bath oils, bath foam as well. I've used salt in an emergency and it does the job but it stings if you've got any cuts.

What! No baking soda (that would have been good)

Use the salt, but be sure and rinse well. Get a bowl and dip a cloth. The water will probably dissolve it.
