Just because you don't eat fried food, chocolate or drink soda, doesn't mean you are eating right. You could very easily be eating too many calories, and not even know it. I had the very same problem a year ago. I only had to lost 25 pounds did it in 2 months, and have maintained the weight loss for 1year 9 months.
I got a personal trainer and here is what he made me do.
Keep a food diary of everything you eat, when you eat it, and how you feel when you are eating. (that's where he found my problems)
Then he put me on a 1200 calorie diet, also had to keep a journal!!! no cheating, no fat, no sugar!
I worked out with my trainer 2x per week doing weights and cardio.
4 days a week I worked out on my own. The minimum my trainer allowed was 1 hour for cardio and 30 minutes of weight work.
Once the initial weight was over we modified my diet to 1600, and I work out less. I still do this!!!!
Don't forget that lifting weights is crucial. Muscle burns more energy than fat!!!

the problem is most certainly your eating habits. you are consuming far too many calories for your level of activity, you stated that you don't exercise a lot. for most that pretty much means not at all. if you are sedentary you must decrease your caloric intake or weight gain will occur. if you do not have a physically active job or participate in sports, etc. then to manage the weight you must focus on the diet. this means that 90% of the foods that you eat should be whole foods and not processed and you either need to start counting calories or severely reduce the portions of food that you consume.

hah you are lucky that you don't like those foods! i suggest trying to just get a little exercise in during the day, probobly about 30 minutes or more would be best. if you start with something simple such as walking, you can eventually boost it up to something like running. if you feel tired but havent exercised, do it anyway. believe it or not, exercising releases endorfines so you will not feel as tired after! that is probobly the best thing to do...just exercise and keep to your healthy diet.
also, im not sure what you eat, but portion is also important so if even if it is healthy food, if you eat too much it can be bad for you. try cutting down your meals to serving sizes on the box.
good luck!
p.s. u can definately do it by jan. 2008 if you put your mind to it!

It's always your eating and exercise habits. You really and truly are eating too much. I know you can't believe it, but it's true. Choose a small bowl. Eat 2 meals a day, only what will fit in that bowl and you will lose weight. But I doubt you could do it unless you first resolve your emotional issues.

if you're serious, meet with both a nutritionist and a personal trainer who can come up with a good program for you.
