Violence and hatred are encouraged by religion in the name of god. Just look at Salem witch trials and religious terrorists

My understanding is that violence and hatred are both anti-God states of being and they are highly discouraged.
The only hatred that is encouraged is to hate sin (not sinners or people, but sin and the devastation it causes).
There are some who advocate hating Satan, but I think even that is unwise. Hatred involves a focus of attention and energy toward the thing you hate. If that focus and attention are toward change or positive movement, I suppose there is some value. But it's better to love good and center your focus and energy there.

Yes. Any time anyone aligns themselves with god,in their mind, then they feel justified in anything that they do. If they want something bad enough, they will bend and shape their god and change his rules so that their desires are in line with their god's will. And of course, their god's will overrules any of the judicial laws. God's will can be one thing one day and something totally contradictory the next day, depending on the needs of the moment. God is just a concept. It's the people who are ****** up. They created god for power.

Christianity, with its doctrine of humility, of forgiveness, of love, is incompatible with the state, with its haughtiness, its violence, its punishment, its wars.
— Leo Nikolaevich Tolstoy
They came with a Bible and their religion, stole our land, crushed our spirit, and now tell us we should be thankful to the Lord for being saved.
— Chief Pontiac
Let a wave of intolerance wash over you. I want you to let a wave of hatred wash over you. Yes, hate is good.... If a Christian voted for Clinton, he sinned against God. It's that simple.... Our goal is a Christian Nation... we have a biblical duty, we are called by God to conquer this country. We don't want equal time. We don't want Pluralism. We want theocracy. Theocracy means God rules. I've got a hot flash. God rules.

Greater love has no one than this, that he lay down his life for his friends.
John 15:13
Above all, love each other deeply, because love covers over a multitude of sins.
1 Peter 4:8
This is how we know what love is: Jesus Christ laid down his life for us. And we ought to lay down our lives for our brothers
1 John 3:16
Whoever does not love does not know God, because God is love.
1 John 4:8
If I speak in the tongues of men and of angels, but have not love, I am only a resounding gong or a clanging cymbal. If I have the gift of prophecy and can fathom all mysteries and all knowledge, and if I have a faith that can move mountains, but have not love, I am nothing. If I give all I possess to the poor and surrender my body to the flames, but have not love, I gain nothing.
Love is patient, love is kind. It does not envy, it does not boast, it is not proud. It is not rude, it is not self-seeking, it is not easily angered, it keeps no record of wrongs. Love does not delight in evil but rejoices with the truth. It always protects, always trusts, always hopes, always perseveres.
Love never fails....And now these three remain: faith, hope and love. But the greatest of these is love
1 Corinthians 13:1-8a and 13

I hope you don't mind if I cut and paste some lyrics here from Enigma's "Silent Warrior." I just feel that these lyrics are responsive to your question:
Long ago, for many years
White men came in the name of GOD.
They took their land, they took their lives
A new age has just begun.
They lost their GODS, they lost their smile
They cried for help for the last time.
Liberty was turning into chains
But all the white men said
That's the cross of changes.
In the name of GOD - The fight for gold
These were the changes.
Tell me - is it right - In the name of GOD
These kind of changes?
They tried to fight for liberty
Without a chance in hell, they gave up.
White men won in the name of GOD
With the cross as alibi.
There's no GOD who ever tried
To change the world in this way.
But for the ones who abuse his name
There'll be no chance to escape
On judgment day.
In the name of GOD - The fight for gold
These were the changes.
Tell me - Is it right - In the name of GOD
These kind of changes?
Tell me why, tell me why, tell me why,
The white men said:
That's the cross of changes?
Tell me why, tell me why, tell me why,
In the name of GOD
These kind of changes.

Hatred no. Misused violence no. Sometimes it is necessary to stand for truth against demoniac persons and exploitation and hypocrisy. But that must be done very carefully. But in general no on both.

Only in Islam?
Well, that is a load of crap. Christians have used God to kill people for centuries. It is still used today in hate crimes.

Yes, sometimes it is, by people who do NOT live by the word of God, but their own twisted definition of it.
