You are speaking about the Antichrist. Well, yes and no. Yes, he is Satan's minion, and will be a powerful man. He will arise out of a ten kingdom power, in which he will overpower three of them himself, and become the most powerful man on earth. He will force try to force everyone to worship him, and to take his mark. This mark may come in the form of a microchip, or maybe something else which is either implanted in the right hand, or the forehead. You will not be able to buy or sell without this mark. BUT, DO NOT TAKE IT!! Anyone who takes the mark, will be damned to eternal punishment, and thrown in the "Lake of Fire." after the Judgement. The Antichrists main purpose is to take over everyone, and cause as many as he can to reject Jesus Christ, and worship him. Also, to destroy the Jews (sound familiar?) and the Christians. Satan will possess his body, and he will set himself up in the Holy Temple,(in Israel) proclaiming to be God. (this is the abomination of desolation)This is the Great Tribulation the Bible talks about. Yes, that is the definition of the "Antichrist." He will be the embodiment of Satan on earth, and He will defy God by declaring himself to be God. He will go into the inner sanctuary of the temple (whatever that looks like in modern times), and declare himself to be the most High God. He will also make war against all true believers -- meaning people who really walk with Jesus, not just people who call themselves "Christians."

The reason he will be a political leader is because politics is the seat of worldly power. Jesus' power was the opposite of worldly power. It is God's Holy, true power. THe power of this world is actually a lie. So the antichrist will epitomize that lie, by using his charisma to attract and seduce peoples' hearts to worship him. He will declare a false world peace, a false one world religion, and a one world government.

The anti christ has already been shown to be Nero Caesar whos name in Hebrew numerology added to 666. The book of Revalations was written 2000 years ago and had to do with Roman domination of Jerusalem and the wishful thinking that the jews would rise up and free themselves.
