my friend of several years has picked up the hints that i liked and told me a relationship sounds good but he doesn't want to risk the friendship. but he gives me massages and buys me gifts and tells me how sweet i am and how good i look and he even holds me differently or puts his arms around my waist. i don't know if this means he's ready now or if he just wants to be closer without a commitment. help me out what does this mean and what should i do about it?

he's probably being honest. he likes you, but doesn't want to risk ruining the friendship. but the bottom line is there's always a risk in relationships - i say just give it a shot - people who are friends first have a better chance i think, and if it doesn't work out, maybe you can still be friends.

Stop fooling around. He is just doing this whole routine because he is afraid he will get hurt when you break up. Give it a try and make sure if it does not work out that you break up without going ballistic.

Oh, and don't have sex. That will make it easier.

It means he wants more but doesnt know what to do about it because he is afraid that if yall break up he will lose the friendship that he cherishes so much.

I think the best thing to do would be to talk to him about it, and if you dont feel comphortable you can have a mutual friend ask, or you can send him an anonomous message from this site http://hikkup.com my fried used it and it worked for her, good luck

I would confront him again and see if he is ready to turn your friendship into a relationship...

if hes doing these things all ready, just dont do anything, see where it goes,it will work itself out. he could just be testing the waters,be patient.
