Hands down it has to be Kyle Petty. He is the biggest HUMAN on and off the track. So many people bashed him last year for the sympathy vote at the all star race. They just don't get who he truly is. He has devoted so much time and effort to the VJG.

this driver was never my favorite!! but i did learn to respect the man!!! he called my favorite driver the kid! and became partners with him! he had tried for 20years to win the daytona 500! then the year he taped a lucky penny from a little girl in a wheelchair to his dashboard, he won his first daytona! and gave all the credit to that sweet little girl! he cried at his son's first win! but rarely did we see an emotion out of him when he won or lost!!! i personally saw him go from last (thinking we don't have to worry about him!)at talledega! to winning the d@M#! thing! and then he hired michael waltrip! what forsight that man had! and would have finished first, second , and third! at daytona! (don't unfasten your seat belt yet, dale!!!!) but instead went out doing what he was born to do!!! race!!! miss you! dale! you a$$h@L#!! you sure knew how to race! they won't let them race anymore, like you raced! politically correct nascar!!!! not as exciting! but the kid is still giving them a run for thier money!

Tim Richmond would have been the best,as a matter of fact he was the best before he died of AIDS. Dale E. even said that.I watched Tim drive while he was really ill,and he was winning races in that condition.I have the model of his Folgers No.25 sitting on my desk. That guy was the best of the best.

Jimmie Johnson is my favorite driver and like most, he has his own foundation.
The Jimmie Johnson Foundation is dedicated to assisting children, families and communities in need throughout the United States. The foundation strives to help everyone, particularly children, pursue their dreams.
And here's the link to the website:
http://www.jimmiejohnsonfoundation.org/
He and his wife, Chandra, are very active in donating time and money to help lots of people in need. Not too long back ESPN had a neat story about Jimmie and a child that got to meet him through the Make a Wish Foundation.

Kyle Petty for the Victory Junction Camp, taking Adam's death and turning it into something good.
Tony Stewart does alot for charity and keeps it quiet. One story I've heard was that Smoke called Kyle Petty into his motorhome and just handed him a $200,000 check for Victory Junction. Tony also helps retired drivers in need, without saying a thing about it. Kinda blows Smoke's rep doesn't it?

He's not my favorite driver, but my hat's off to Kyle Petty. What he's done for kids with illnesses with his Victory Junction Camp is just amazing.
