I think it is possible. It might take lots of work and lots of time.

If your friend is illegal, any attempt to contact the US government will get him deported. If he is married to a citizen the the US citizen should file an I-130 for him. He will be allowed to stay in that case, but he will have to prove that the marriage is not a sham. He Cannot go from illegal alien to US citizen just because he has been there years. He WILL be deported. Seek council, but trust me, there is NO way around this if he is illegal and unmarried!!!

Tell him to wait for the next amnesty program. There is one coming soon after the election. Like the great Jimmy Carter sell the country down the river program. It will enjoy great bi-partisan support. The details need to be worked out.

I did. But then again I came from Never-Land. Second star to the right.
Your friend however, will have to go through legal means from his own country. Sorry people like you, still don't understand the laws for aiding, and abetting illegals. Sad really!!

absolutely not! He must be legal first. Kids or a spouse don't get an illegal auto citizenship.
Skip the lawyer. Go home. Start the paperwork. If he has been deported previously, he's got a major problem!.

No, if he's illegal he will have to go back to his country of origin and start the process there, legally. He might as well, any contact he makes with our government here will get him (rightfully) deported.

He might have thought of that before he became an illegal. Now he'll have to go back home for awhile and come back legally.

Im not sure but he may have to pay 5000 for admenesty for citizenship. It was in the news recently.
Also if he has a american born child or spouse that is an american that would make things alot easier for him.
