Punishment for what? Being a woman? Having a period is part of the reproductive process. In fact, women are more valuable for their ability to help create and harbor life!

Most mammals have 'periods.' It is the frequency, in humans, that is unusual. This is because humans are one of few mammals that are actually fertile, year round. Also, were there not a biological system to isolate a single egg at a single opportunity... well, women are not exactly built for having litters. One or two is usually all that can be pulled off, naturally.

when eve made adam sin against GOD in the garden of eden GOD made them leave. He then told eve that she would have to bear children. other than the Immaculate Conception of Mary i do not any way of conceiving unless a woman has a period every month. so, i would say that yes GOD gave women periods as punishment for the sins that eve committed in the garden of eden.

Every female animal has a "period". It has nothing to do with God, its biology. How else would we procreate? The eggs have to come from somewhere.
