You just walk around the way they tell you to, in the right general direction, and they pay you at the end of the day, or the end of the week. It's a good gig. I used to do it when I lived in the L.A. Area and it was a great way to make a few extra bucks. Sometimes you even get lucky and they need you for something more, but then you've got a bunch of paperwork to fill out and you found out that you joined a guild or a union and you're paying dues and all of a sudden you're not making so much money anymore 'cause they're getting some of it. But then you find out you can take some off your taxes, but only if you itemize. It's a whole big thing, but it's all part of the magic. Now some scene comes on and I point to the television and I say "Hey, there's you're Grampa on the television!" and my grandkids don't care from nothing because it's not like I'm the star or anything. It's nice though, because it gives me something to talk about if my friends run out of knock knock jokes.

I do some acting and modeling which people say requires talent, but for being an extra you just need to go to the nearest agency. You then get an agent and if there is a movie, you just have your agent get you the job. Its kind of simple actually.

Good Luck! =]

Well, judging by the new characters on Eastenders, I guess you don't need talent to be an actor, so I should think an extra requires little or no brain either...

But seriously, if you are interested, go on the ITV web site or the BBC and see whats on offer.

Good luck...

no special talent needed. My friend use to be an extra fairly often. You can't speak cuz then you'd have to be part of the Union and all that crap...but being an extra is great

You have to be attractive and easy to work with, and that's it.
