Something bad will happen somewhere, to someone, sometime in the future.
There, that's about as vague as any prophecy.

Some Christians don't believe that there are any
current prophets or prophecies - the "age of
reason" is the culprit.
I have seen prophesy first hand and the sign
being that they come true - I have seen that!
I have the spiritual gift of what we call
"word of knowledge" at times - it's what is
currently going on or what I need to do to
prepare for something immediate or even
down the road at times.
I don't take it lightly and much is private.
It works well in my life though.

No other prophetic religion has been 100% accurate like Judaism & Christianity. Islam has a set of prophecies I think, but most of them were ripped from Jewish & Christian scriptures and then twisted around into something different. (Islamic prophecy mostly centers around total world domination by force.. Yeah.)

In my opinion, prophecies have to be thought about so it could come true, what you focus on usually comes about and if you focus your belief on so called "prophecies" whether good or bad it will manifest. Why do you think psychics usually tell you "the truth"? It happens, because you believed it will, or you held your mind connected to it, but that's just my opinion.

Ba'hai, Hinduism, almost all spiritual animisms, ...well lets cut the list short by saying every religion but Buddhism (and even some sects of that do) have prophets.

In the Bible a false prophet will be put to death - his/her prophecies must be proven. Anyone can say anything they want, but if they declare it to be from God, they'd better be right!! I've always wondered why when you go to a psychic, they ask your name.....hmmmmmm
