...no new evidence that the world is a whole lot older than 6,000 years shows up? I mean, they're running out of excuses.

No, no, not an atheist. Not by any means. But I do accept science and can't deny the truth of evolution. :)

I guess I am a creationist to the extent that I do believe God created life. I should have said "Do you think young earth creationists..."

No. I am a creationist but not a young earth one. I put no faith in science, so any "proof" doesn't matter to me.

No, as a God believing "creationist", science does not scare me. There are many mysteries in this life. Being as I do not know how to carbon date anything, those who do could tell me anything....
I am not to defend God, only to believe in Him and to proclaim that belief. Therefore, I do not need excuses, or explanations, only faith.
It is a bit of a mystery to me why science and God must be at odds. One day, I think, we will all have the answers. Many of the "facts" will be shown to be false, while others may receives kudos for having figured something out.
While science can do a lot for us, it does not deserve the same respect I give to my Creator. As late as the 1950's it was considered a "fact" that infants felt no pain, and as a result they endured surgery without medication! Science can't even agree on what we should and should not eat or why.
Science is the search for knowledge, it is not knowledge itself.

I dunno..I have no problem with God creating universe and stuff but why do people have to assume God did it the way a human would...God is so far beyond us and our comprehension that it is stupid to even think we know how God does anything.
I mean, like God is incapable of setting up a self sustaining system like our universe?
Noam "B- = JD" Depix> so do you think God is putting your answer on this website?
UFO® Crocoalien> they cannot use carbon dating for anything over like 50,000 years old anyway but they have other ways
ADD> I don't think the planet or God really gives a s hit what we think of the Earth's age

Heck, we could invent a time machine and film it happening all the way up and they would still deny it happened. New evidence shows up about every day, but scientists don't make an issue out of it, because it is a decided issue as far as they are concerned.

I don't think that's what they're waiting for. They've demonstrated pretty thoroughly that they are impervious to proof of any kind. More likely they are waiting for the next scandal, another evolutionist who defects, or some outspoken scientist whose moral character is called into question. These are the tactics of people who are more interested in winning than in determining truth.

Galileo was threatened with being burned at the stake for saying that the earth revolved around the sun. The church did not admit that he was right until Neil Armstrong waled on the moon. They have a lot of patience, but not a lot of sense.

lol my friend's brother is convinced that the world is only 6000 yrs old but like you said, he's running out of excuses. we have been discussing this topic.
he says we can't trust carbon dating because there is nothing to compare it to. scientific experiments need a control group, and there is nothing we can say is definitely 4 billion yrs old, therefore we can't be sure it determines the correct age of the earth.
