It has changed my prayer life and the way I look at our natural world. What about you? What did you think...and what affect did it have on you?

If you haven't read it, please get a copy and get back to me...thanks!

Piercing the Darkness is next on my list. His third one Prophet looks good as well.

I'm excited about reading the other two!

I agree that it is a book of fiction and could never take the place of the Holy Bible. Ever. You must admit, it does glorify God and His kingdom.

It's a good read and made me go...hmmm.

As for angels, they answer to their master, Lord Jesus...and Him alone. I never pray to an angel only to my Lord to thank Him, seeking His help and guidance. If He chooses to use an angel to help me...I still praise God!

Peace and grace to all!

Yes! I read it over 20 years ago. It does change your idea about what we're really fighting against out there. The sequel to "This Present Darkness" is "Piercing the Darkness" and it's pretty good too. Most of Peretti's books are very good. He grew up with werewolves and monster models in his room. He was into that stuff. It's funny how he turned out.

His books are what really made me realize angels are here for us. I call on them repeatedly to be with my loved ones. I know his books are fictional, but gives you a sense that hope is always around. Enjoy the other two and check out other books he's written and co-authored on crossings.com or amazon.com.

Yes, I have.

Please keep in mind that a Christian's holy book is the Bible, not a work of fiction. Don't take your perspectives and ideas from someone else's novels and call it Christian...

I read it years ago and loved it. It made me think differently about the power of prayer and the role of angels. God is amazing!

Yes. Also the sequel, "Piercing the Darkness" which I liked better. Peretti has a lot of excellent material.

Yes, it wasn't bad but not enough action for me. I never read the other ones.
