The geographic nature of these places has always been active. This does not necessarily mean that the end of the world is coming. Stop waiting for armageddon and enjoy the gift of life God has given you. If you believe that your life is a gift, you can't justifiably waste it by waiting for Jesus to come. If you did that and died as the world keeps turning, how will you tell God you spent your life? If you live as you believe in your heart, then whenever the second coming occurs, whether in your lifetime or not, you won't have mis-spent your life. Earth has been preparing for the end times for more than 2,000 years. Tim LaHaye is a bigot against other Christians, (most notably the Catholics), and ignorant of science. Global warming is a scientific process that we have done to the planet- not God.

Do you mean he is going to wait until thousands of poor innocents are exterminated before the return? There have been many come and go who would predict these things as being signs of the end...they have come and they have gone..one could read anything one wants to into these natural occurrences. Unfortunately humanity is like a cancer on this earth, or fleas on a dog, we are not going to give up that easy. Biblical future telling has been going on as long as the bible has been written..and after all 2000 years is not all that long in the scheme of things..when you have planets and suns which are 150 light years away and more..how do these places fit into the scheme of things? Some very famous preacher and prophet, not mentioning names for fear of insulting, built a huge mansion for the imminent return of the Archangels..they never came..he lived the rest of his life in the mansion himself..and this guy was very very famous.. I think I will take my chances..

What I wonder, respectfully, is how the Christians have turned a Mayan prediction of a huge change in 2012 into a Biblical prophecy...and how you can see a man-made phenomena such as global warming as the same, a Biblical event...

My first thought is that Mr. LaHaye is a writer of fiction. He is not a prophet.
My second thought is that the end may very well be sooner than anyone thinks...especially people waiting to be whisked out of danger first...

Does this announcement correlate with the fact that scientists predicted a Global Cooling problem in the mid 1970s?

This is complete, total, and utter nonsense. La Haye may write salable novels, but he is about as reliable a prognosticator as my cat.
