Head standing is always harmful and has no benefits whatsoever. It should only be done for very short periods if at all. Basically, you can increase the blood flow to the brain and cause haemoraging. The heart pumps the blood to the brain with gravity taken into consideration. Therefore the heart pumps the blood with a lot of pressure for it to rise through your body, to reach the brain. As your head is now below your heart, the pressure is too high as the force of gravity increases the flow (no resistance). There is no time limit but of course, the longer you stand on your head, the higher the risk of damage, or even death.
