1. Which jobs/rates/programs are currently in high demand, other than the Nuclear Engineer program??

2. Does anyone know the regulations/restrictions of fraternization between a person with an NROTC scholarship in college and enlisted persons (E-1 -- E-3, and E-4 -- E-9) as WELL AS a person in NROTC in college and officers???

Thanks!

Bree,

1. Job availability and demand changes on a day to day basis, as well as many factors like sex (male, female). Not to mention qualifications for jobs (ASVAB score, police involvement, drugs, physical qualifications) have a lot to do with what jobs are "available".

That being said I'm going to assume for the moment (because of your screen name) that we're talking about female jobs. Right now a lot of "non-traditional" rates (jobs) are available, i.e. mechanics, electronics, etc. Administrative and medical jobs are extremely difficult to come by because they always fill up first.

I can go more into males if you like...

2. Someone in NROTC may date an enlisted person, but keep in mind that if it develops after the member is commissioned it could be rocky. I'm sure it's probably looked down on, but I seriously doubt if it will cause any disciplinary action.

Out of the two you asked, it would be more appropriate to date an officer if you are in NROTC. However I wouldn't try dating above O-2 or O-3.

The ideal rules for fraternization are:

Enlisted stay w/ enlisted.
Officers stay w/ officers.
You only fraternize with one rank above or below you, or at least at the time you began the relationship.

Hopefully this answers your question.

You need to check the Navy's latest CREO list to see which jobs are over and which are undermanned. Here's a link.

http://www.npc.navy.mil/NR/rdonlyres/02D9BED6-B6F1-4281-9592-62659EE1F530/0/NAV06268.txt

Any job in CREO 3 for E-3 and below will be very difficult to get. CREO 2 jobs can be had. The jobs in CREO 1 will be the most offered. Read the message carefully.

An NROTC student has no status of any kind. However, if you intend to marry one, and you're enlisted, you should do it before he graduates and gets his commission.

1. doesn't matter what is in demand, what matters is your line score and other consideration, for what you qualify for.

2. if a pre existing relationship existed, there are no issues whatsoever. otherwise, no fraternization between O and E, and no fraternization between E7 and up and anyone below that. also, it is frowned on for more than 2 degrees of separation-an E5 would not be able to date an E2, for instance
