All of the cruise lines have a minimum age requirement to book a cruise. On all of the lines except Carnival you must be at least 21 years old and have at least one person that age in each cabin. On Carnival the minimum age is 25. Some lines give an exception for people who are married.

All the answers are close.

You have to be 21 to book a cruise. If anyone is under 21, then someone over 25 has to be booked in the cabin with them.

And there are very strict requirements to book a graduation cruise. We set one up for our granddaughter last year and had to have 8 adults (1 for each cabin). Of course, once on board, people switch as to where they will actually be staying but for doing the bookings, we had to book one adult into each cabin.

Oh yes, you do not tell them it is a graduation group. It's a family and friends group. There is a company in Orlando FL area that actually does have a contract with a couple of cruise lines for grad groups. There are some extra deposits required and very strict rules.

From the Princess website:

5. AGE REQUIREMENTS; DRINKING AGE; GAMING AGE; ALCOHOLIC BEVERAGES.

The minimum passenger age is 6 months on Alaska, Canada/New England, Caribbean, Europe, Mexico and Transcanal cruises, and 12 months on all other cruises. Passengers under the age of 18 years must be accompanied by a Passenger over the age of 21. No alcohol may be purchased or consumed by any Passengers under the age of 21. No Passenger under the age of 21 shall be permitted to engage in any gaming activities on board the ship.

It is going to be interesting after the new passport rules come into effect just how many of the younger set books cruises. The cost of the least expensive inside cabin isn't bad, but when you add the price of a passport to it for each person, well, it brings it up a bit.

almost all major cruise lines say the minimum age is 21. For almost all lines that means to book the room someone has to be 21 by the SAILING DATE (not half way through). Carnival cruiseline says if someone is under 21 then someone has to be over 25 in that stateroom. Of the major cruise lines they are the only exception to the 21 rule other wise as long as you are 21 you can bring 18 years olds and up.....there are other possibilities to get younger people on carnival if you room adjacent to parents or guardians also

i dont know why people keep saying you have to be 25 to go on carnival w/out adult. it is 21 unless you are with someone that is 25 or up. my bff and i went on our first cruise at 22 and it was just us. carnival is good for first timers, party goers, and young people. royal caribean we went the following year when we were 23,and had a friend with us that was 21. royal caribbean is a little classier and great food but its not as much as a party cruise line

You have to be 21 or traveling with someone who is 21 (with Carnival you need to travel with someone 25 unless you are married to someone at least 21) This only refers to cruises that leave from US ports and for those of you who do not know, San Juan Puerto Rico is a US port.

Last I checked there wasn't an age restriction. A good Cruise line for 20 somethings is Carnival. My husband and I have gone on that one and it seems to draw more heavily on the college aged kids. It's a fun cruise line and usually has very attractive prices.
