If you want a cat that talks to you get a Siamese
One that like to play a Ragdoll or Himalayan
One that snuggles, any of these but Persians and Maine Coons particularly.
Persians have trouble with their nasal systems so you need to wipe their faces regularly. They also, along with Himalayan and Maine Coons, needs extra brushing.

Don't. The only people breeding cats should be those doing so with pedigreed, show quality animals and for the love of and to better the breed. Breeders don't hand over unaltered cats to just anyone. It takes years to establish yourself as someone serious about the breed. You'd have to first buy a show quality alter of the breed you're interested in - which will cost you at least $1,000. Then you'd spend several thousand showing that cat for at least a few seasons. Then and only then would a breeder consider selling you an unaltered pedigreed cat and give you breeding rights. And that cat would probably cost you $2K or more PLUS stud fees. Why do you want to breed? To "make money"? Reputable breeders don't get rich breeding cats because all their money goes back into caring for the cats and showing the cats. If you want more cats GO ADOPT SOME. Millions are being put to death at shelters every year because there's just not enough homes for them. And we really don't need yet another greedy, unethical backyard breeder to add to that number.

I have had all breed of cats and Manx Cats are THE BEST by far!!! They are known as the 'dog cat' because they do things like fetch. They always have such delightful personalities and are so friendly and loving. These are the cats who have a persian looking face, a double coat, and no tail. They are adorable! Usually about $150. I would recomment getting 2, that are brothers or sisters because they will grow up with a friend. If you get one kitten and in a few years decide you want another, your older cat will have a really hard time getting along with the new one :o)

I have 2 Himalayans and they are wonderful together. I haven't had any health problems and have read they can live up to like 20 yrs. Their personality is loving, laid back, and loyal. They will follow you around the house. They are a breed of the persians. They are extremely pretty cats and keep clean. They do shed just keep them brushed.

I have 2 Maine Coon at the moment and 3 others that I have owned in the past. I find them to be the sweetest, gentlest cat there is. I am not sure what the previous person meant by them being testy. I have never, ever seen any of my Maine Coons "testy". They are called "Gentle Giants" and I believe it. They are snugglers and lovers and will sit with you all day if you would let them.

Two cats is best so they do not get bored or lonely. All of these breeds have excellent temperments. However, all but the siamese require daily brushing and grooming. If they get matted, you might have to have a groomer shave them which is expensive and stressful on your cat. If you like cats who like to be held then ragdolls are for you. They just flop in your arms.

I love maine coons, but they can be testy. Siamese are really loud and annoying, persians and himalayans i dislike and a a pain to keep up with. I think a rag doll is probaly the best way to go. I would start with one then see how you like it.

It really depends on what type of person you are if you want a cat that is energetic and fun then a bengal is a ggod bet ( if you get a bengal watch your legs my bengal jumps on me and uses me as a scratching post) if you are more into a cat that cuddles you and plays with you then a siamese, but remember if you get a cat,one on its own will get lonley so get two of the same breed.

We have three cats, a brother and sister who are just plain street cats and a Maine coon that was given to us. Each has their own personality and each is special in their own way. They have each been treated with love and gentleness and they each respond in kind. I honestly can't say one is better than the other.
The only time they really irritate me is when they get tired of one another and we have one of those days. Oh, yes, it also irritates me each morning when I have to clean the cat box.
Other than that, I wouldn't take a million bucks for any one of them. Just make me that offer and see. Be sure to have the money with you.

I have a Ragdoll and a Persian. They both have similar personalities (VERY laid back and friendly) but my Ragdoll is much easier to groom. My Persian needs to be brushed and combed daily while my Ragdoll only needs brushed once a week and gets combed once every couple of weeks.
