I have a 47 inch Samsung rear projection wide screen. I have red lines running through the top of the screen in the shape of a smile (no other way to explain it) and some of the images are double in red. The tv is about 5 years old. What could be wrong, what is your estimate of cost for repairs, or is it worth fixing at all?

$330.00 to repair it....the convergence amps are shorted.

It's worth fixing it.....

It would be better just to upgrade. If you have a repairman come out to look at it and decide not to fix it their still going to charge you for coming out there to check it out. Your better off giving it away to somebody and have them fix it.

Sounds like your convergence is out of whack. Try setting it up but there is probably component failure causing the problem.

one of the bulbs is out... it's going to cost more to fix than it's worth.

Only a tecnician can tell you.
The color may have to be restored.
