In the last few years, there have been many rumours that Alice has supposedly 'found religion' or is 'Born again'.

These rumors have been flying around a lot especially with the release of 'The Last Temptation' - which certainly has some theological tones to it. But then again, this is nothing new. Many of Alice's lyrics have dealt with this going all the way back to "Fields of Regret" and "Second Coming." He feels it's an interesting subject to write about as he doesn't want to do songs that are just about making out in the back seat of a car or the like.

As a lot of people know, Alice's dad was a minister and his father in law is a minister as well. Alice's mom is still active with the church. So, stories fly around. For instance, Alice may have driven his mom to some church function and the next thing you know, people are saying that he was born again. It's no different than the chicken killing story. Alice is not a Satanist but he's not a religion nut either.

Tommy Hawk - excellent answer!

Of course, what quite a lot of people don't realise is that there are two sides to Alice Cooper - Alice Cooper the married man, Christian, with a family who does normal stuff like coach little league, go to PTA meetings, etc and Alice Cooper the stage character (Alice always refers to "stage character Alice" in the 3rd person in interviews).

The man up on the stage is NOT the same man that you would meet on the street.

I ama HUGE Alice Cooper fan and of the firm belief that what he does in his own private life is entirely his business. He was scorned by some quarters when it was "discovered" that he was a Christian (whoopee twang - as if it matters) but there you go - there's always somebody ready to bash somebody else for whatever reason!

Alice talks more about his faith in his book "Alice Cooper: Golf Monster" for anyone wishing to know more.

Now feeding the sheep, rather than his Frankenstein....Now we need to add another Detroit rocker,Ted Nuggent and how about Ozzie as well and maybe a few of those boys from the now defunct,Uriah Heep..oh yeah.......I will be happy to sit in on the drums...Man that would be a band. Meow is right, sister!

EDIT I just remembered something... 3 or 4 years ago, this Christian lady asked me to attend her Church to hear her sing and also to confirm the story a man who had been recently visiting their gathering..He claimed to be Alice Cooper and wanted for her to record a CD,under his expert advisement and management(his intentions were less than pure)..So I went to check it out...and sure enough, this nut from cloud coo-coo stood up in his black overcoat,in the middle of the service to announce his identity, to the wide-eyed crowd...I just rolled my eyes..

I say it's wonderful!

But Deke's right -- Kiss is much, much better than Alice Cooper on stage. However, I'd put Pink Floyd head and shoulders over Kiss, so there you go.

I say KISS still owns Alice on stage, but he's very knowledgeable about the history of rock music. I really enjoy hearing his opinion and perspective on that topic.

I love Alice Cooper. My friends and I went to his church once just to stalk him.

Turns out he works in the nursery. If I ever decide to have kids, I'm so bringing them there!

It rocks his boat, doesn't get in the way of the show or his music. More power to him and his personal life.
